    Today's craziness got me thinking...
I managed to get in the queue at around 200th spot, which I thought was very lucky, but when I got in - all that's left was the 2oz. Which is crazy. I feel sorry for those in 2000th or even 5000th.
I'm assuming this happened because most of the coins have been allocated to dealers - who will instantly list these coins for sell at up to 4x the price of RRP. We’ve seen some.
My question is what benefit does RM have to gain from this?
Why would they prioritise flippers over DTC (direct to consumer)?
Why annoying hundreds if not thousands of collectors to satisfy a few dealers?
Because these dealers buy so much “bullion” coins from them? And this kind of stuff is a bonus from RM to thier B2B customers?
Someone else said on groups - if Rolex found their “official” dealers flipped like this, they would ban them immediately - Rolex watches are always sold at RRP at official dealers, they are just sold to people who have a history of purchase, but not at bulk either like RM, i.e. one per customers, it is then "flippered" on the secondary/unregulated markets.
RM literally sell at bulk, to flippers.
I'm also a gold Mint Marque member, and even my Account Manager said it had been all allocated... very sad situation as I really wanted a 2oz gold for my collection... But no way I’m paying the insane prices it’s been flipped for already.
    Win some lose some!
Feel free to drop your thoughts here all, no hate  it's the game we love to hate.

So these arrived today, the 2012 5 coin set all PF70 grade. Never really thought I’d be interested in full sets until I got the 2022 but now I think I’ve got the bug! The 5 coin is most definitely a sight to behold. This is most definitely a long term hold. Would love to get an original box just to have with it. Would also love to get a full set in the 2016 sovereign as well

I did not understand the SP designation, this is the NGC explanation from thier site -
the US Mint has occasionally produced coins that fall short of the definition for actual Proofs yet are clearly superior to the normal currency issues. In past generations, such pieces were routinely described as Proofs by coin dealers and catalogers. Since the 1960s, these would-be Proof coins have gradually become accepted under the term "Specimen," which is abbreviated SP on the NGC certification label.

Royal Mint 2017 Silver Proof Collection
    Mintage - 609.
I'm not entirely sure how I ended up collecting these sets, but at least they aren't as mindnumbingly boring as silver Maples or Phillies et al.
I prefer the wooden "Premium Proof" boxes for storage as opposed to the original shiny black boxes.  As yet I haven't landed the 2017 for this collection. Let me know if you know of one for sale.
My second set of such photos - down to about 10 minutes "arrangement" time now @TheShinyStuff. Donning and removing the gloves is a bit of a pisser.

A lovely 1953 New Zealand Commemorative Proof Set.  Inaugural Portrait, fantastic Reverse designs and nicely presented.
Sets don’t come much more satisfying to own than this.  My favourites are the Crown, Florin and Penny 😃

After almost two weeks wait (had to self isolate due to Covid) I picked these babies up today.
All inspected and in great condition.  No capsules had come undone and to the naked eye they look perfect.
