We often get asked for non-existent dates of sovereigns, and 1972 happens to be one of them:
About 20 years ago, we published a table of sovereign date mintmarks combinations, which also showed non-existent dates. We also created individual web pages for all the non-existent or extremely rare dates, explaining the facts, and also listing other countries and denominations of gold coins of the same date.
We were asked twice today for 1972 sovereigns.
Perhaps we should ask the mint if they have any objection to us making our own!

Here is the double layer one I had cut that takes the 1/4oz and 1oz RM screw capsules with the lip . The top layer holds 10 x1oz & 10 x 1/4oz and bottom layer holds 11 x 1/4oz .

Oh my word. Just had my 2oz, 5oz and 10oz silver delivered. Obviously I have seen loads of pictures, but having it in hand is a different level. I love it. I am delighted.
Haven't had a proper look yet for issues but had a quick glance at all 3, nothing jumped out, fingers crossed.
Will take a good look later when I have some time.

Two rather gorgeous 1oz .45 cal silver bullets. Measuring 3.1cm in length and 1.2cm in diameter these are very tactile. Super happy to get these. Thank you @LiquidMetalsUK

A lovely Silver Piedfort Queen’s Coronation 60th Anniversary Portrait Set 🤩. Only 697 of these sets were issued. Reverse by James Butler is a beautiful take on the Royal Arms.
Also today, a couple of stragglers from the Royal Mint 👍 😃
