  1. 'Should've gone to Chards' sounds like an excellent tagline.. I wonder if anyone else has ever thought of something similar.....😃
  2. Firstly, welcome to the forum! You're asking some very sensible questions. You might be interested in giving our Beginner's Guide to Gold Investing a quick read over, as it does tackle some of these queries: https://www.chards.co.uk/guides/beginners-guide-to-gold-investing If you do decide to go ahead with a gold Brit, we do have them in stock (new and secondary market) at a low premium at the moment, but our best outright deal at the moment is a 2% premium on secondary market here (£1642.58 at time of writing): https://www.chards.co.uk/gold-britannia-coin-minty/12650 Wherever you buy from, welcome to gold investing!
  3. We do have some coins with Privy marks on our website but not this specific coin!
  4. Watch this space. 👀 Out of interest, what do people really want to see this year?
  5. That's great! Make sure to give us a call beforehand as we operate on an appointment basis! 😃
  6. If you give the showroom a call on 01253 343081 - we have some stock and would be happy to sort some for you.
  7. The coin you received would have been classed as “Grade C” at https://www.chards.co.uk/gold-sovereign-secondary-market-grade-c/3351 Most dealers will have a threshold when it comes to condition of bullion coins. At Chards, ours is one we have consistently used for almost 60 years. We have noticed that many newish dealers, including scrap gold buyers, jewellers, and pawnbrokers, appear to operate a very low threshold for bullion coins. Price comparison of “our choice” secondary market bullion sovereigns is often not a fair like-for-like comparison, because of our quality threshold standards compared with most of our competitors. We often get to see sovereigns offered to us by people who have originally bought them elsewhere. These often include damaged, scratched, highly polished coins, mainly ex-jewellery, and also fakes. We usually ask owners/sellers where they bought them from, and a high proportion name a small number of apparently reputable sources.
  8. We are currently looking for a more cost effective custodian solution for Cryptocurrency so in the mean time, we are not accepting crypto payments. The market is too volatile. We are working to remove Crypto pages from our website. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
  9. Give us a call! 😀 Edit: You were already on it!
  10. We've received our stock. We were told the 1oz was coming in a vinyl sleeve, but it's come in a blister pack. The 10ozs are all in vinyl sleeves as mentioned above. Photos below.
