Clens92 got a reaction from UraaniBarbaari in Today I Received.....
An 1884-CC $20 Double Eagle; I think it's a good candidate for NCS conservation and will be sending it across to them for a 'touch-up', and subsequent grading from NGC. The red spot at the top of the coin is either a very dark copper spot, or blood.
I'm not too sure on grade, but I think it might be able to achieve AU53-55.
Picked up from HGM, after a post on the Gold Deals topic.

People seem to missing the elephant in the room..... they are fraudulently sending as medical supplies, don't know if this is because it raises less suspicion or to save them money on insurance and postage. Never bought from them but if anyone had to claim from yodel how do you prove you bought medical supplies?

Now it looks less problematic... the '7' still irks me, especially the far left downward-pointing bar. But I'm not an expert and it could easily be a slight die-variation. Either way, these copies are nearly always 21/22ct gold so you won't lose on it
If you see here, the downward-facing bar of the 7 seems thinner, whilst the spacing of the B.P. is also slightly different. God knows... it's all gold to me

Not convinced by that one at all, to be honest. The '1887' is far too thick - especially the '7'. It might be 22ct, but I don't think it's genuine

Apparently Westminster have some form for over-selling and subsequently having to cancel orders. Hopefully the ebay prices start to rise now!

I believe that's fairly typical when they're busy - their email system lags a long way behind the website... don't worry yet

Let me guess... the sovereign came from Atkinsons?
They have some bloody cheek with their 'proof' coins. Cowboys, unfortunately.

Not a case of receiving a nice coin, but I had brilliant customer service from HGM today - acknowledged a minor problem with an order and fixed it without any fuss. Hard to beat, especially if you like the pot-luck of buying coins blind :P

I can somewhat see what you're referring to.
Was it a business, or a private seller? Difficult if it's a private seller, as the coin is graded and therefore is 'as sold', and presumably sold as seen. The seller will argue that the coin is still PR69, and that nothing has changed with it since grading.
If it's a business seller, you have 14 days so it shouldn't be a problem.
