Monday I go to my bank, and changed some money up, £20's to £50's, there was no need to put the money in my account, or so I thought. I was greeted by the person behind the counter, by name, customer service is nice, but the amount was over £1,000 they 'have' to check my ID. I was asked to remove my hat, I asked why, because they have to check I am you I say I am, they know already! I think I could maybe understand if I was taking money out, but I had to put the money in before I could take it out, why, I have no idea. I do so. I then asked 'would you ask a Sikh man to remove their turban, or if was wearing a hajib would I be required to take it off?' The response was 'I can not comment sir.' Is this sexist, and or, racist or just a two tier banking system? Of course there is the risk if I ask I maybe de-banked. Your thoughts?
