TSF used to have a telegram and WhatsApp group, purely for notifications of what is happening on the forum. However, we found that it was better to use a single method of notifying members of important updates (the forum’s newsletter) so stoped updates on Telegram and WhatsApp.
We feel that it is better to just concentrate on the forum. Members, even free standard members, can post and reply to precious metals related topics on the forum, so I don’t see any need for an alternative platform.
Thank you to members who post useful content on the forum rather than off of the forum, as posting precious metals topics on the forum is beneficial to all of the members of the forum and helps to grow the forum further.

For the uneducated, like me, what is a telegram group? First I've heard of such a thing.

Telegram is a messaging app for mobile phones, it's similar to watts app but it is completely encrypted and also not subject to censorship like other platforms such as facebook and twitter.

The 5 kilo's are a nice size. Wouldn't mind a tube of 20 of them

According to this: https://www.jmbullion.com/2021-1-oz-armenian-silver-noahs-ark-coin/ Armenia started 10 years ago. It's like our Maple Leaf or your Brittania, their main silver coin.
It might be common knowledge to you but new to me. I love to learn all this stuff!
It also says: " Introduced with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz silver, the series now offers some of the most unique alternative silver weights with 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 Kilo silver coins introduced in 2012."
    More details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah's_Ark_silver_coins

Wouldn't a 5 kilos be absolutely awesome? Dreams are cheap I guess! LOL

One of my favourite silver bullion designs. I've only got one 1oz coin but three full tubes of the silver 1/4 oz Noah's ark.

Noah's Ark from Armenia - the landing spot of the ark on Mt. Ararat. God's grace then, and on Easter now!

Long term hold - whilst the price of Ag and Au is interesting, I really don't care - I'm in it for the long haul.
Since starting buying, I have sold nothing.

MickB reacted to ChrisSilver in A huge number of items for sale (the highest ever)
In March 2021 there were a total of 688 topics posted in the precious metals trade section of the forum. This includes wanted topics, however as many sales topics contain multiple items per listing, the number of items listed on the forum is substantially higher.

This is the highest ever monthly amount of listings on the forum to date. With many members stating that they save more than their membership fees by buying and selling on the forum. For those members who are considering trading on the forum, upgrading to Premium Membership to see trade listings 3 days earlier than standard members is just one of the many benefits. (see each Premium Membership package for full list of benefits)

Over the course of 2021 and beyond we will be working on ways to increase the amount of trade on the forum even further, by running different trade promotions and advertising. So we thank members who choice to support TSF by upgrading their membership to Premium Membership as this provides vital funds to allow us to run such trade incentives and promotions to help to grow the forum and trade.

Thank you also to all of the members who choose to BUY and SELL on The Silver Forum.

Royal Mint announces 'The Great Engravers' recall
By Roy, Coins World Published: Apr 1, 2021, 12.01 AM   The Royal Mint has apologised for what it describes as 'a huge mistake' and is pleading with the British public to return any recently bought gold and silver coins that feature work by the engraver William Wyon. Mr Wyon's family, it appears, were not consulted when the new coins were conceived and do not approve of the mint using the designs without their permission. Speaking through their lawyer, they said that they were 'most upset' and that the mint were absolute rotters. Mrs. Anne Jessop, speaking for the mint, noted that they had indeed 'dropped the ball' this time around and asked the coin buying public to kindly return the coins as soon as possible. She said that she was 'really sorry'.   The mint has assured customers that they will be refunded in full for the cost price of the coins and that they will cover the cost of the postage too. As a thank you, each customer who returns their coin will be gifted a limited edition Celebrating British Diversity 2020 UK 50p Silver Proof coin.       -images courtesy of the Royal Mint Mr. Wyon's estate.

These are not English sterling silver but American .999 plate silver. Sold as such.
With a feedback of only 26 and adds the above line in there to cover himself, this should stand out a mile. I bet ebay won't refund the buyer their £67 plus postage
Also, looking at the sellers feedback for previous items, they've pulled this stunt a few times.

One of the best 2020 designs, imo. Quite surprised the coin is still available from European dealers, and at good price.

Two lovely Maundy Sets and a part Set arrived today- more to follow this week.
Maundy Money alongside the Sovereign are the only Milled British coins that have endured for the last 200 years or so and continue to be issued today; albeit the Sovereign has missed several years.
Some interesting nuances with these year dates- the 1817 Pistrucci designed George III coin bears the date on the Obverse whereas, a standard for Mandy was established from 1822 in terms of size & weight.  Interestingly, you can see on the 1822 3d coin, the Mint used the same punch they used on the Portrait of the 2d.  Previous to 1822, Maundy Money was made up of circulation coinage.
The 1822 George IV Reverse designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen has endured to date, excepting one change to the design of the Crown of the Reverse, the change made in 1888 by William Wyon.
    Sweet little coins.

The first of the new 'Icons of Insporation' coins. From APMEX/Niue. Seen a couple on here already and missed the proof that @Jamesd listed which was stunning, but this one us special because its mine! Being a science guy these are right up my street. Also picked up the new Kook and a Phil, but no-one needs to see them...
My phone/photography skills dont do it justice, hope the rest of the series is as good.
