  1. As pics. £960 inc SD. I make this spot + 5% (roughly) a decent price for a graded proof only available in sets.
  2. Coin is of the usual high quality from the Royal Mint. COA 856. £200 plus postage of your choice.
  3. Unfortunately, this coin has a mark on it underneath the seat. I do not know what could have caused it as it seems to be damage to the coin rather than a fingerprint smudge. I am not brave enough to try and clean it as it could cause further damage to what is a very mirrored surface. The rest of the coin looks amazing. Very unfortunate as the mintage of these are the lowest in the whole series at 487, they only issued sets in 2013. Price reduced accordingly. £480 + postage of your choice.
  4. Coin is in great condition. COA 191. Unfortunately I need to do some research on photography solutions as the camera on my phone is utterly pathetic for coin pics. £520 including SD.
  5. 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz proof coins in complete set as new from the Royal Mint with box, packaging and COA 117. I apologise as the pics are not of the quality that would be expected for such an investment, I have tried my best but my camera will not comply. If you are not 100% satisfied I will accept a return, as to me these all look perfect and have not been out of the capsules. As most will know, the Britannia proofs are well produced and usually grade highly, with very good chance of PF70. Pricing of this is based around the rarity of the 1/10oz as it is very rare to see this coin for sale at all. In my experience the rarest coin of the whole series. And no sorry, I cannot sell it separately! £2000 including SD.
  6. IMO very collectible as the last of the series to feature the iconic Queen Elizabeth II observe. Beautiful coin and will be sad to see it go to be honest. £1198 including SD.
  7. I am in. Prize will be a 2012 Year of the Dragon 1oz silver bar.
  8. Interesting comments guys thanks. CollectForFun, I am assuming that it did not clear customs or else FedEx would have been free to simply deliver it on as planned. Quite what paperwork I would have been asked to complete if I had decided to collect at Stansted I do not know as neither FedEx, UK Customers, nor the supplier told me. Irrelevant really as I had no intention of making the trip to collect. Gov.uk/eori is very clear that it does not apply to private goods. I think I will stick to the Britannia's from now on.
  9. Yes, I loved those rounds, I bought a few tubes and was able to sell at a nice markup locally. Kept a tube for my own investment also Unfortunately the gold bar was sent back as I was not prepared to go to customs at Stansted, I am in Northern Ireland ffs. I find it odd that Customs did not contact me, all the communication was through FedEx.
  10. I recently ordered a gold bar from Singpore which was to be delivered to me by FedEx. 999 gold so meets the criteria for "investment gold". Prior to shipment FedEx called me asking if I had an EORI number which I quickly googled and told them NO as the bar is for private investment and not related to any import/export trade. A few days pass and I get another call from FedEx saying that since the gold is worth more than £2500 I need to be an "approved importer" and as I was not on the list I would need to collect it myself from Stansted Airport! I asked for this to be confirmed in writing and they responded "Customs found this is a restricted commodity. Need importer numner (EORI)". I am not able to collect from Stansted and find the whole situation bizarre. Banks and Central Banks can move tons in and out of London but the private individual is limited to under £2500 of real money? A disgusting and infuriating attack on my liberty. Anyone have any relevant experience that you can share?
  11. Maybe I am going slightly mad but I have started to feel sorry for my wife who has to walk around like a homeless person while I sit on a stash of gold coins like a greedy dragon. The utility (brownie points) to be gained from buying my wife some nice gold jewelry is probably going to be worth the premium on such pieces. Part investment, part brownie points! I like the mene.com stuff but I believe I would have to pay customs charges into the UK as they are based in the US. Does anyone know of anything similar in the UK or EU? 22 or 24k.
  12. XRF is way out of my price range! I have had a look at the Sigma basic and think it might do the job, as long as I can confirm beforehand what the gold content of the coin is supposed to be e.g. 22k the Sigma will confirm.
  13. Sorry to revive an old thread but I am looking for a tester for ancient gold coins. In particular, composition of the coin. Is the GVS suitable for this? I see they provide acceptable ranges for a list of coins in their documentation anbd of course this will not cover the wide range of hammered ancients.
