Whichever has the lowest premium above spot when you are buying.
Although sovereigns are a little easier to sell if you want to offload peer to peer down the line.

Shep reacted to LawrenceChard in What you think of this costly mistake..... A right Gold Can Debarcle
It is worth reading the A.S.A. ruling:
https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/brewdog-plc-g21-1115533-brewdog-plc.html
It states that adverts described the cans a "solid gold", "24 carat", and worth "£15,000".
A member of our staff happened to have an empty 330ml aluminium can (not Brew Dog) on his desk. It weighed 15 grams.
The specific gravity of gold is 19.32, and that of aluminium is 2.7:
Gold 19.32 Aluminium 2.70 Ratio 7.16 Therefore a similar can in pure gold would weigh about 15 x 7.16 = about 107 grams.
With spot gold currently at £49.39 per gram, this would make the intrinsic value of each can approximately £5,300.
This is substantially less than the £15,000 claimed by Brew Dog, a misleading exaggeration, by a factor of 3, seemingly not picked up by the A.S.A.
I don't think any reasonable person would expect a solid gold can to be composed of 330 ml of solid gold, rather than a normal hollow can made of gold. Neither would any reasonable person expect the can to just be gold-plated.
330 ml in volume of gold would weigh about 6.4 kgs, which would be worth about $384,000 at today's spot gold price, rather than the $500,000 stated by Brew Dog, although I have done my calculations at current gold prices, rather than look up what they were at the time, but it looks like this was yet another guess, exaggeration, or invention by Brew Dog.
None of the above gives me much confidence about the liquid content of their cans, the purity of the ingredients, or the accuracy of thier labelling, or the rest of their advertising.
Perhaps @HerefordBullyun's opinion of Budweiser could also apply to the yellow liquid contained in Brew Dog cans?
It is also worth noting that the A.S.A. mention two previous rulings against Brew Dog:
Other rulings for this company

There were also three "related rulings":

Shep got a reaction from JohnA1 in Just thinking out loud!
I don’t really feel that justifies a negative. A negative feedback on here = destruction of the persons ability to sell anything on the forum in the future. Not really a fair punishment for tardy communication, and as previously alluded to, whilst it’s annoying for the buyer people have lives and they might have something going on.
Although it sounds you’ve had a pretty poor experience so far, if it does indeed arrive well packaged and as described surely it’s a neutral at worst? Each to their own though.

Shep got a reaction from Griffo in Your experiences with safety deposit boxes.
-You don’t have to divulge the contents to anyone although you have to sign an agreement not to keep certain items in them. The only time you would have to divulge the contents is to an insurer if you wanted the contents insured.
-Which brings me on to the next point: The contents often arnt insured automatically - this can be rather expensive if you choose to buy it.
-Deposit boxes have no bearing on CGT as that would only arise when selling your metal.
-It’s worth the outlay in the respect you don’t have a pile of PMs hidden at home waiting to get robbed. I’ve had one for years and would never go back to not having one just for the peace of mind it gives me.
-Is it safe from HMRC? Probably not as you have to prove your identity/ address/ inside leg measurements to open one.

2002 Three Lions Gold Proof One Pound The original UK pound coin appeared in 1983 and was also available in silver proof and Piedfort versions. It took some twenty years before the first gold proof was minted in 2002 - the year of the Queen's Golden Jubilee. As the coin was only offered as part of the RM gold proof 13-coin set, I had believed my chances of snagging an example to be somewhat remote. A total of 2002 sets were released, so the number of "orphans" is likely to number well below 100. This particular PR69 specimen came up for auction in the US and is now safely in the hands of my friend and TSF legend@jultorsk, who was kind enough to take the accompanying photos. Another bonus was discovering that this is the uniquely highest PCGS grading achieved for this coin as well as the only Deep Cameo. Shame really - if I cannot find another then I shall have to remove the mortuary slab.

Not been around so much recently as spent most of my spare money on setting myself up on Zwift for those winter miles, and chasing the elusive 'tron' bike! (You'll know if you know😉).
Anyway, these little bunnies came yesterday, along with the bars to make the delivery slightly more cost effective! The two shots of the rabbit just to showcase the different light.
Enjoy the festivities 🎄🦌🎄

Will be VERY interested to hear if you get any useful info from Spink Dave. Most likely get redirected to the 'right' person who 'unfortunately is away in America' right now...
Got the below response from them regarding an old auction I enquired about. There was a raw coin but a bit of digging revealed it had previously been graded but they made no mention of it in the auction listing.

Shep reacted to LawrenceChard in Gold Coin Proves 'Fake' Roman Emperor was Real - Ancient News
Yes, I also read it in today's Telegraph print edition, but prefer to quote the BBC as its factual reporting, grammar and syntax is usually better. In addition, the Telegraph online often blocks access unless you pay.
I can usually get by in France, Germany, Italy, and even the USA, but Glaswegian usually defeats me, although we did until recently have a staff member from Northern Ireland, and I had problems understanding or even following what he was saying.
The story is interesting in that it underlines that coins provide hard and persistent evidence for much of world history over the past 2000+ years.
True numismatics!

Shep got a reaction from kimchi in NGC: "NGCX" a new 10-point Grading Scale for Coins.
I think this is excellent. It smacks of nothing but a money grabbing move. NGC have had collectors by the stones for far too long and with this move have likely undermined their reputation and kneecapped their credibility.
Hopefully we can get back to enjoying coins and see a bit of a market reset and move away from the pump and dump of graded modern collectibles.
