I think what @Fenlander1 may be getting at(I may be totally wrong)😁 is that recently, there seems to have been an increase in members who are able to sell seemingly limitless amounts of silver at, what seems to me, a very low premium. Thus making it virtually impossible for the everyday stacker to turn over a few oz here and there, without having to sell at a loss.

I don't think the market reached its limits.
Silver is selling well on other platforms, doesn't matter the shape. I think TSF's buyers becomes more selective and are waiting only for bargains only because the forum's members are more educated and their perception about metal's value is more accurate.
I won't blame any seller who is selling under the market's value. I did it several times before when I was in need to release quick cash to pay for some urgent bills or to buy something more attractive for me.
About VAT payers. I am very sure the business members who are selling silver on forum are VAT payers. If they are able to sell on here at a good price (@£22.5-£24.5/oz, depending of quality, shape and size), it is because they invested a lot of their money to buy bigger quantities at lower prices and they reduced their profit margins.
About non-productive accusations about foreigners, migrants, immigrants, you can slow it down a little. I am a foreigner working legally in UK, I am tax payer, hard worker and bringing more plus value to british society than many british people.
Just sayin'...😊

Pretty sure HMRC have better things to worry about than a few pounds in non VAT on silver on a forum
That's the trouble, with the amount of TURNOVER,it isn't just a few pounds anymore.

Worst case scenario - and I've know idea if this could happen. 😂 HMRC monitoring forum, realise vat not paid on majority of silver now sold on here. Force management to hand over personal details of members who bought this silver - these members as end buyers now become liable for vat and anything else Hmrc want to stick on top. As I said no idea if any of the above is possible. 🤔🤔

Keep telling yourself that mate
Why not become a conchie or a pacifist like the Republic of Ireland? I mean why not, if you don't harm anyone else, nobody will harm you. It's not like the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans or Iranians would steamroller the UK if we all went into a field, smoked a fat one and started singing kum ba yah
Evil prevails when good men stand by and do nothing
It was defence contractors who created computers, satellites, microchips, GPS, nuclear power, jet engines, the internet, microwaves, cryptography, you know everything you're using right now to have this conversation? Mostly British inventions.
The problem is not those not paying VAT on silver. The problem is having a two-tiered legal system where half obey the law and the other half don't. Those who don't follow the law prosper at the expense of those who do follow the law. If you don't pay your council tax then I have to pay it for you, or else we all pay via inflation or we all do without public services

Do we consent to having our silver taxed? No, it's a cruel joke bordering on criminal itself .... if I was PM of the UK then VAT/CGT on precious metals would be abolished tomorrow.

A decent thread and having to agree with @HonestMoneyGoldSilver makes my skin itch.
Let’s just say theoretically there is a seller on Instagram(🤷🏼♂️)or elsewhere selling silver and not paying VAT. If HMRC believes he’s lost a few quid, he won’t just come after the seller, he’ll tear into everything with the buyer. You are not innocent until proven guilty, he will tell you what you have to pay (his guess) and you have to prove him wrong(receipts, invoices, bank statements etc) he then might feel he needs to look at what else you’ve bought and sold like Lego or Sports Shoes, Star Wars Pyjamas etc
You import silver-usually you have to pay through the couriers according to the HS code and documentation. If you’ve been charged accidentally VAT on investment Gold- Tough. You claim it back, they don’t care or want to know. The Seller abroad is NOT responsible for duties and taxes of the country shipped too-you are(T@Cs). Ignorance and pretend naivety is not a defence.
As the stunning and brave Pirate said, the selling of bulk silver has killed the basic collector’s ability to sell their couple of ounces. The issue then becomes the small profit they’ve made would normally introduce them to fractional gold and climb the investment ladder. Now that progress stops. The selfish, arrogant seller has then killed the forum sales pages to line their criminal pockets.
Bigger picture is important.
