so if you picture a sovereign, and sell the coin, you might make about £10 in profit.  Should you then find someone using your picture, you name & shame them, threaten to sue and gain £5000 and another £5000 for removing their name.
why bother selling the coin in the first place? The back-catalogue of the TSF trade section/Today I received must be worth billions!

I sold my bitcoins when they were in the hundreds of dollars each to buy silver.  Imagine how disappointed I am.  I also misplaced a paper wallet with a bitcoin in it.
I mined lots of other crypto and gave up on them.  Doge which was a joke to start with so left hundreds of thousands in the online wallet that disappeared.

I'd have said it was almost eF as well.  Maybe the obverse is EF with reverse being a bit below.  I'd think it's been cleaned as well although close to the letters isn't that much more dirty.  You can usually see where they couldn't clean in between letters as well.
The tone doesn't look natural either but that could be the picture and there doesn't appear to look like there is any lustre (although that's more a guess as it doesn't show well in pictures often).
I also tend to grade on the conservative side.

Really?  I thought there was vaguely similar amounts in both yolk and white but the sulphur reacted with the yolk to release hydrogen sulphide which gives the smell, green grey colour and would react with the coins.
I guess slicing or mashing the egg would be the best way to make sure as much is released as possible then.

Wait another 10 years or so and you may well pick one up for release price or less as happens with most royal mint coins. 😀

I got a single sovereign from sharps pixley last week and it was showing as sent via special delivery.  They sent it out quickly as well.
I just ordered another pre decimal qe2 since I have very few of those and I’d like an almost complete date run from initial minting at some point.  Hopefully I get lucky and get a date I don’t already have.

The unas are a beautiful coin no doubt, and right now the market says the price is what it is - and so the current value is just. But make no mistakes.. this is UNA mania due to the planets aligning - they will drop in price significantly.. And people will eventually talk about remembering what crazy prices they went to.
What we have now is one big game of hot potato, very soon if not already many will be looking to swap thier 2oz of silver for 2 ounces of pure gold..more and more coins will be graded and the PF69 and PF70 coins will drop too.
I realize my opinions are not popular to anyone holding one, sorry im not trying to "deramp" your stunning coins, they are incredible! but its my honest opinions on the current price point.

That just means there is a actual bottom to the market that hovers just above zero, not that the market will stay the same forever.
Many on here are in their 30's saving for their retirement in 40 years time. I can guarantee 100% that if collectible coins are put away today and sold in 40 years time, you will probably have made zero profit, when factoring inflation, storage and insurance into the equation.
Can anyone name me 5 coins, out of all the coins minted in the 1970's that if sold today  will have made a profit.

So you wouldn't compare coins with stamps.

Even though the highest price ever paid for a coin and a stamp is about the same $10m
The stamp collecting market is worth about $10 billion per year, for printed pieces of paper, the coin collecting market is about $18billion, and that includes people collecting for metal intrinsic value as well,

I think they compare quite well, and lessons learnt in one form of collecting should be heeded in the other. Coin Collecting today is where stamps were in the 1970's and 80's. I see the exact same patterns occuring today in coin collecting, that I saw in stamps many decades ago. It's one of the reasons I'm slowly moving out of coins. As the use of coins in general circulation falls, interest from the kids who will be the collectors of the future falls. Slowly the number of collectors diminishes as the old guys die, (have you seen the average age of collectors at coin fairs), and the bottom falls out of the market.
I'll be out before that happens.

How can you be so sure UPS have paid out to them if they are refusing to divulge any information to you?
I doubt anything will come of mailing any mints apart from them politely acknowledging you.
If none of us ordered from goldsilver.be and posted here that we weren't because of this type of "customer service" maybe they would rethink things a little but as long as lots of us continue anyway....

Nobody mentioned different sovereigns from the ones H&B were selling.
Point out exactly where I lied?
I said they were dearer for the same 2020 sovereign and quoted the price along with their other 'newly minted' sovereigns and the prices for them..

Of course the coin was almost 100 years old in 1938 already and you are comparing a newly minted coin.
I think the young head victoria is much nicer as well.
Weren't there variations in the victorian one as well dirige, dirigit, plain edge and others?

Not looking to sell any silver but I've never seen anyone offering to refine your 50% pure silver for a 10% fee so I wondered where you got that price.  A lot less hassle than doing it at home and probably cheaper or just as cheap too.

Knowing Atkinsons it is probably marked before it's so cheap.  I wish they'd show the actual coin especially when they charge well over spot.
