These posts remind me of the Brexit debates. Constant toing and froing, arguements and winding each other rather than a healthy discussion.

Why wouldn't I want to see scientific studies and evidence? I'm a scientist, I've spent my life looking at such.
re; people with lung problems staying indoors. (a) self isolate and drastically decrease the chances of catching COVOD-19 which would almost certainly kill you, or (b) stay indoors and risk worsening the chronic illness but unlikely to kill you. Bear in mind these people and not exactly very active anyway and probably spend most of their time indoors anyway.
I know which one I would recommend and prefer.

    Couldn't agree more.

Here's some actual experts explaining cornavirus and why it's so concerning in easy to understand language, not that it'll change any of these tin foil hat nutters minds.

Stay inside, it's really not that hard. On demand TV, video games, the whole god damn internet internet, books (remember thoses) we are spoilt for choice for entertainment. Plus a myriad of communication options. Yes walk your dog, they won't arrest you for that stop over reacting, but otherwise you don't need to go out!!

Absolute garbage, the video says nothing of the sort.
The guy is touted as an infection expert but other than a few statistics scribbled on a whiteboard, he offers nothing of any scientific or statistical validity to back up his claims.
I'd rather listen to our infection experts any day.
He is saying that in Germany, the draconian measures put in place are such as to only save the predicted 30 lives a day. In fact the are running at a lot less than this! The detailed epidemiological statistics just aren't available anywhere for him to make his assertions. The rest of the video where he rambles on about quality of life for the elderly and making their last days enjoyable are just opinion and totally irrelevant to the discussion in hand.

Edinburgh Assay Office (and probably others in due course) closing as of tomorrow.
    Dear Customer,

In earlier updates on the Edinburgh Assay Office response the Covid-19 crisis I have outlined the steps that we had taken to keep our office open for as long as is safely possible.

I no longer believe that I can ensure the safety of the staff who must travel to and from our city centre location. Furthermore, today’s advice from Government is very clear. If you are operating a non-essential business that cannot be operated by allowing staff to work from home, then you should be closing your business.

With the health and welfare of staff and the wider community in mind, the Edinburgh Assay Office will temporarily close at 4.30pm on Tuesday 24th of March until further notice. While we appreciate that our decision to close will cause some considerable inconvenience for many of our customers, we are equally sure it will come as no surprise that we have taken the decision to do so, in light of the latest advice from government and the developing situation internationally.

We wish all our customers well during these turbulent times and we look forward to opening again when it has been deemed safe to do so.

This means: We will endeavour to complete all work that we have and dispatch it tomorrow. Our progress team will contact customers to discuss this tomorrow. We will return any work we are unable to complete on request. Counter closure: No further work will be accepted over our counter with immediate effect. Collecting work: We would ask all our customers to collect their work from the Assay Office before 4.30pm on the 24th of March. Posting items: We can post incomplete items back to customers if we receive an email request to do so before midday tomorrow (24th March). Storing items: We will store items for customers: - Who cannot come to the Assay Office to collect work
    - Who have not requested their items to be sent back by mid-day tomorrow.
    - In the event that we are unable to complete your work.

    Yes indeed.
I just want to make it abundantly clear, we are fine here. BYB poured silver will be fine.
But, I have basically no income projected for the rest of 2020 now!
We shall see what happens with the self employed.

I'm not disagreeing with your statements.
But if you ignore the current advice more people will die sooner than they would otherwise have done.
The issue I have is people promoting sentiments of "if enough people ignore it there is little they can do" are socially irresponsible in my opinion.

Nobody likes civil liberties being restricted - but in this case it's fairly simple, do as you are told and save lives. It's not that difficult.
