Do you have any more information, or is this some subtext I'm missing, so if the RM says it's paused that means they've cancelled it but they don't have the guts/decency to say so?

Its all about lining the pockets of the executive team bonuses.

I have been informed that the Royal Mint have suspended their employee profit share bonuns scheme - but the Exec's still get all their bonuses.

Anne Jessop earned £149k in bonuses last year on a £229k salary.

This has been nagging me, so I have written to the RM, questioning the 2-coin format, and the size, neither of which make sense.

@BackyardBullion - this topic could make for interesting content for a video. 🙂

I mean, at this point any video I make will have the following response from The Royal Mint:

shut up and take my money GIF by Product Hunt

They don't care. They want as much as they can before the gravy train truely ends.

    BYB unboxing vid?

    100% mate

I have a phone call at 10.30 so I am dying to get it open but dont have enough time to film right now!

Let me tell you though, its making some very jingley jangly noises.

The Edinburgh Assay Office are very good at packaging my stuff and as it has been confirmed as opened by the Royal Mail you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be reciving a claim for ANY damage to ANY of the pieces I have made.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking and hoping 😅 sorry but it would make a great video, and just about sums up the competency of royal mail.

Well, considering all I have for all the stress and annoyance is a £50 goodwill payment I think I need to reimburse myself with some additional ad-revenue by talking about how silly the Royal Mail actually are.

Someone's had the idea to put some bricks in the parcel and try and blag it was the sender lol

    @stefffana

You can bet your bottom dollar this is being videoed when opened and if anything is missing they will be in deep do do.

Imagine challenging the Edinburgh Assay Office on the contents of the package.

Literally the most secure chain of custody I can think of in the "normal" world outside of law enforcement...

Yeah I've seen emails from Royal Mail stating items were already destroyed as deemed dangerous. Case closed. After a few strongly worded emails, package's miraculously were returned to sender.

I have been told there is a special room where parcels go in, but miraculously dont ever come out. At least in one piece anyway.

once they have offered the price, and you have agreed and paid, a contract is formed, that is it

    Oh, I totally agree.

The Royal Mint are opportunistic money grabbers

I honestly think they didnt know about this glitch and are only just now figuring out that they gave away £100,000's in lost revenue to silver forum members 🙂

Hey, @BackyardBullion do you need any more content for Royal Mint videos?

I mean, they don't have a clue about what they are doing quite frankly.

I also don't know enough about consumer rights to know if this is legal for them to ask for the difference.

If they are doing this then surely 100's emails will be coming out to Silver Forum members, I think we hoovered up nearly 1000 of these bars collectively!

  9. I have thought about challenging them with a complaint to the Postal Review Panel or indeed the postal redress service.

The difficulty is that The Royal Mail (and they know this) have done everything by the book.

They have paid the appropriate amount and they have also added a goodwill payment. That ticks all the boxes that they could possibly need to to avoid legal scrutiny.

The "right" thing to do and doing what is expecetd of them are two very different things.
