Hi. I too saw the Gold price spike last night at 11pm GMT+1.  Happened at the moment of the Asian session open.  What I find more interesting - apart from the almost immediate retracement - is the not-so-subtle cover up that followed.
For example, if you refer to your trading chart of choice and go to the lower time frames (say 1min or 5 min) you will find a gap. All data between 22:00 and 23:03 has simply been removed. There is no candle(s). The price spike has seemingly been airbrushed from history.
If it was a "fat finger" event that caused the price spike, you'd still see the price spike on the charts. The fact that data has been removed after the fact to conceal it screams manipulation & cover up.

Who honestly genuinely believes now, that voting actually makes meaningful difference? And your vote counts?

As usual this is a made up story. Gold would not behave like this quite out of the blue on a Sunday night on the basis of 'hopes of lower rates sooner.' Who does he think he is kidding?
This is code for I don't know why the hell this happened but i need to say something to look like i know what i am doing.
The word is a central bank came in at the open and bought BIG on the spot market. This resulted is a massive spike in price. This then caught a lot of traders out and we had huge numbers of margin calls in futures. Short positions are forcibly closed and so it snowballs as they are bought back.
Now which central bank and why they should do a Sunday night raid i am not privy to but that is why we saw what we saw. 
What is encouraging is that was a big spike - so either the order size was off the charts or there isn't any gold out there - i have previously heard there isn't any gold out there.

Have you seen green gold? The colour is formed by alloying gold with trace amounts of silver and cadmium.
It was popular in jewellery during the Art Nouveau period (and imo looks rather stunning when done correctly).
As an example, the leaves in this piece are green gold.

I was just going on the photos. I've never seen one in hand. They look gold on the photos.
I saw a 2022 sovereign in the flesh a few months ago and the colour was as ghastly as I remember from the 2000 half sovereign I used to have. The modern ones are just not nice. Nothing beats a Vicky or George V sovereign, or even a Gillick.
