StackemHigh got a reaction from Griffo in Are commemorative Crowns a better buy than bullion coins?
Unless you want to collect crowns it can be best steering well clear of these and most rm products all together.

This was quite common 10 - 15 years ago. I had a nasty habit of sending money a different account of mine as holiday savings of around £150 per month. My bank didn't like my AC bank account for some reason.

It’s coming up to that time of year again and in TSF spirit it’s time to celebrate with what has became a yearly tradition.
Look out for @trp’s topic coming soon! And once again a massive thank you to him for helping out and organising this year’s.

StackemHigh got a reaction from AaaGee in Just seen this. Any opinions?
The collector will look into every coin weigh up the design, material, year, mintage and price at least that's what i'd do. Then decide if the coin is desirable and has a place in the collection. Generally this will only take a glance at a coin to decide.
The Churchill crown has a simple design by he relief is very low, the low relief would reduce the want to have one for me but if you like Churchill or have a collection of crowns then i'd have to get it to fill in the gap in the collection.
I would say know what you want to buy and have a price you are willing to pay before looking. I have a simple note pad on my phone that has a list of coins i want to get with different metals and prices. Don't want to buy a base metal coin for silver prices unless it's a special coin.

StackemHigh got a reaction from daca in RM shipping backlog
The problem is that the dispatch dept.  used one eyed nana from the quality control dept. And she somehow got lost on the way to the post office ended up on the M6 and delivered all the stock to a certain @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer in Blackpool.
Apparently this is the 4th time this mistake has happened this week!
Nana said that the brand new BMW i8 was a lot faster than her old micra.

Every 2 or 3 weeks there is a rm release of something for some obscure anniversary.
2025 will be the 25th anniversary of the new millennium celibrate this remarkable event with the royal mint with it's SOTD limited edition sovereigns. Only  2025 of these lovely proof coins will be released at only £2025.

StackemHigh got a reaction from ArgentSmith in 1oz Platinum bar price?
Normally from auction like the last one, but also house clearances, people i know with swaps. I got 1oz + 1/2oz for a semi-numi collectable 1/2oz gold coin worth about £820 ish because i had two and could let it go and that is what was offered in return.
I've seen about £50,000 worth at spot of coins at auction in the last couple of months selling at or just below spot -5%
People i know just want to ditch (very happy to do so) Pt and want just Au.
I'm seeing a large swing away from Ag and Pt from people i know.

I can't see any benefit that either would have other that sovs are so much easier to sell. It's hard to knock the sovereign BU or proof.

My goodness, I can just imagine the headline news:
Founder of Famous Blackpool Precious Metals Dealership Found Barbecued!
Police say a 'reckless and criminally negligent' amount of charcoal was used, and the result was therefore clearly not fit for human consumption.
In order to avoid civil unrest, hungry patrons have temporarily been diverted to the chippie around the corner.

I received some Perth Mint silver for my ongoing collections and the system was down. Luckily i was still about when they arrived and was able to take delivery.
Where i am the royal mail is probably the best most reliable delivery company about. The collection office times are only a couple of hours in the morning which can make it difficult if you work.
