Hello! Welcome to the forum. Just out of interest, are there many bullion dealers in beautiful Cape Town that sells silver & gold coin and bars ? I'm just curious. 🤗

Do you think you would have listened had a friend told you that he buys/collects silver and gold coins for investment and wealth preservation. I had this conversation once with a friend who was a keen stamp collector. He was rather defensive when I told him that stamps are pieces of paper at the end of the day and has no intrinsic value. I adopted a take it or leave it approach. So the discussion on the topic ended rather quickly.

Nice coins and in good condition too. I think you did well to buy them for €35, considering there is 1.42 ounce of pure silver content worth £28.10 (€31.70). Nice pickup. 👍

It was interesting to see that almost half who voted were bearish on silver. Oh you of little faith ! 😆 It got nowhere near £18 but past the £20 mark on 27th Dec. I'm still bullish on silver. The price of silver will continue go up and down in the coming months. But my forecast is that it will be an uptrend. The silver bears should have loaded up when the spot price was around £15.40 back in early September. 🤗

If there are any under 18 age old on here with a large stack of PMs, then I would like to adopt them. 😉

That St George design makes him far more credible and heroic then the tame design found on modern gold sovereigns. It depicts him having the guts to go against fierce dragon far larger than him. Whereas on modern RM sovereign, it shows him fighting an overgrown deformed bat with his pants down ! 😁

Why not phone them first and enquire about the price of coins / bars that you're interested in. That way, at least you'll know what the premium they charge and decide whether it is worth a visit.
