  1. No problem @FlorinCollector ! Having a quick look if its regular purchases into funds and you want a big choice they are very good. For individual stock buying they are years out of date with their pricing it seems. For me personally funds are the way to go as I do tend to act on impulse and they give me a fire and forget mentality with them.
  2. They have a great selection of funds, all have zero fees to trade - Personally I have never used the app and do everything from desktop - I like the layout of everything, It feels very user friendly. I Have been happy with the service I received there and for some reason trust them more than some newer companies. They are competitive and match AJ bell for the Lifetime ISA with a 0.25% platform fee. The Stocks and shares ISA I would probably be better of moving to someone like AJ bell, but for the small regular investments I do into funds HL suit me due to no fees on fund buys/sells. The 0.45% platform fee isn't ideal, to be honest I have not done the maths to try and work out how much better off I would be elsewhere with my investments. A rainy day project perhaps! If I was buying stocks I might have to move, but for funds they are great. My Sipp is with vanguard.
  3. I do have a small amount of BTC and ETH at a ratio of 60% btc, 40% ETH, I have put it away in my long term hold no matter what savings as its not cost me anything. 👍 Thanks Pete! I currently have 6 months emergency funds in my cash ISA, If i was to lose my job at the royal mail (not out of the realms of possibilities!) then I could survive for at least 5/6 months with all bills and mortgage covered along with food ect. Hargreaves lansdown is the site I use, Others may be cheaper but I like them - I do have a small SIPP with 500 quid in it, but I decided the Lifetime ISA is better for me on my wages, I get the same tax relief as a SIPP in it and can pay into it for another decade, I can only withdraw in 20 years at 60 but I can withdraw 100% lump tax free unlike a SIPP. I think If I max out the LISA one year the SIPP will be useful. Im thinking it might be nice to be able to reduce hours worked at 60 until pension age, or at least have some options. The LISA has a max annual contributions of 4k, So Maybe I should max this out each month and any surplus goes on funds in the S&S ISA. My LISA has these funds Fidelity Index UK Fidelity Index World Legal & General International Index Trust My Isa currently only has Legal & General UK 100 Index Trust Legal & General International Index Trust I tried dabbling in individual stocks some time ago and It is not for me, Now going for "time in the market" rather than "time the market" Maybe the time is now to move 100% to the S&S ISA and forget the cash one.. And buy the odd Sov😁
  4. Me, nearly 40 years old... So each month I save what I can, I am trying to max out my LISA for retirement, I have a workplace pension with a total of 16% income going into it from me and employer those two are no brainers for me. I have also started a stocks and shares ISA for this year, and I have a Barclays cash ISA at 4% So lets say I have £500 to invest each month in the ISAs, how would you allocate it in the current climate? The S&S ISA is a long term play, the cash ISA is also our emergency fund and has currently 20x the value of the S&S ISA 4% whilst well under inflation is guaranteed, but I know that the S&S ISA should not be neglected neither.
  5. If the royal Mint are selling pre graded 70s in the US then that just reinforces the reasons I stopped buying from them. No wonder QC is so bad, in many cases I'm sure they know they are sending out junk and just hope those buying wont notice, I mean any proof looks amazing compared to pocket change...(if that's still a thing these days!) The average buyer is probably like my parents, Have the funds to buy and think its a good idea but have no real idea on what quality standards should be nor the best eyesight.. The Royal Mint is not stupid and I refuse to believe such a company does not know exactly what kind of grades the coins they are sending out are, and whilst they are not going to give every coin the scrutiny a grading house would (or should..) I bet most people here who buy graded coins could make a pretty accurate judgement very quickly. Its not as if they are going to be having unskilled agency workers doing QC, and the chances of getting a PF70 delivered from a ungraded purchase has to reduce if they are allocating them to the US. For me buying coins IS about the thrill of the hunt, Finding a rare coin, finding a undervalued gem, a under graded piece ect.. Buying a guaranteed 70 would diminish that, but I get it - grading is a costly and time consuming process and since a 69 these days is seen as hardly worth being in a NGC/PCGS holder its a right gamble. From an investment point of view, how are the prices of 70 graded coins holding up in the cost of living crisis?? I know investment grade watches have cooled of somewhat but I must admit I am behind the times with coins right now.
  6. Bump, back for sale as I still want to add to ISA, price is firm though. Thanks!
  7. Decided to sell this coin, price is firm I'm afraid no reductions will be considered. SD postage included.
  8. Without wanting to be a downer in this exciting time for many, a few observations... When doing some early morning shopping on my day of today I heard three builders walking round Tesco's talking about buying gold bullion, when I'm at work I regularly hear a radio ad saying "golds gone galactic" and offering to buy your gold.. When delivering the mail I recently saw a leaflet drop to over 800 houses offering to buy any gold and silver or old watches and medals.. When I was delivering mail at a residential park home two blokes were going door to door trying to buy gold. This is precisely what I saw happen back in 2012 before a rather large price reversal of 35% ish over the next two years. A lot has happened since 2012, past performance is not indicative of future performance ect - Just an observation.
  9. We just sold an item on etsy today, will update if no payment received.
  10. Such a far cry from 2014 yet again - The horse manes look like seahorses and would it be too much to ask to give Britannia a touch of class and elegance rather than some mardy battleaxe with a jawline like desperate dan..
  11. I would not be interested, reminds me of "shill" bidding. Its a tactic where a seller tries to extract the highest price you will pay via a method of fake bids. Personally I would not buy in this way to start with but would reject the offer.
  12. Looks like the case is solved Just wanted to say its nice to see a hallmark question from established member and not a passing account looking for other people to do the legwork to boost the value of their eBay sale (probably) Yes I'm a sceptical old sod.
  13. LlSAs are great, I'm still paying random amounts into a stocks and shares and saving it for when I'm 60. We used our LISA and did receive the bonus on purchase of our first home. The only points I will mention is the Solicitor charged a small amount extra for applying for the LISA bonus, and as one point it was waiting for that bonus that was holding up completion. That said all went fine and it was effectively free money. If I was doing it again I would have no hesitation using them again, but I would want to maximise the bonus to make it worthwhile.
  14. Una is obviously a very in demand coin still. But auctions can so easily be be fixed , Not that we ever would but two of us here who both own unas could list one and both bid against each other until it was over 100k, hell why not make it 200k?!?, a new record! we then make payment and split the 6% commission cost. For a mere few grand each our coins now have a past sales history of over 200k. Now we list somewhere else with a 160k reserve and hope a wealthy buyer thinks they are getting a bargain. I think the old saying "somethings worth what someone's willing to pay for it" is completely true. And auctions of such high valued collectables are bound to be full of corruption, as is playing at high stakes poker, pool, or many other high stakes transactions. That's not to say this isn't completely genuine. It is the most in demand recent issue coin in history as far as im aware and the sky is the limit really. But that's why I cant and don't trust auction results.
  15. I would look into @BackyardBullion intermediary service as most wont want to do a joblot sale with a new member.
  16. Looks like a cartwheel penny, and seems to be "counterstamped" I suspect that is where the value may be, in that counterstamp if it is anything interesting so you will need to do some reasearch.
  17. I just went and thumbs up that comment, need to get the word out!
  18. Yeah, £725 for a quarter ounce? good luck ever seeing any sort of return on that!
