  9. I am so out of the collecting loop Pete I'm afraid I wont be of much help, The wood Bison's was the first coins I bought, at £25 a pop from Atkinson's the jewellers! I sold them ages ago but ten years on I would say that quote from coininvest seems so irresponsible, I get they want to shift product but It seems like quite the prediction to make!
  10. £54 plus postage of choice/risk (royal mail)
  11. Depends where you go, a jeweller may have a XRF gun to test the purity (high tech expensive kit) but many wont be too forthcoming to use said kit, a pawn shop is more likely to do a acid test, essentially they scratch the band over a stone (it does not really mark the rings much, then use different strength acids to work out its purity. Just remember though these places are not in the habit of giving out a free metal analysis. To be honest I would probably just send anything that isnt uk hallmarked strait to https://lois-bullion.com/ , let them test and buy it, there prices are very fair.
  12. Easiest way would be to take to a pawn shop yourself and see if they will test them for you.
  13. The 18ct ring id pay 100% of spot and try and sell for a bit more , the rest probably offer 90% and sell for 95% But yes % of purity adjusted.
  14. Ok, I would look to pay just under spot and hope to sell them for just over. the stones are small so forget about them just weigh the rings and check purity first, for unmarked rings or foreign hallmarked i would offer 90% of spot and sell for 95%
  15. If you buy of your friend, whats your plan for them?
  16. From what I can see the garnet cluster ring with the original bill of sale is the nicest item here. That said its a tough sale, the diamonds are small and garnets are not particularly valuable in most cases. Also depends on the finger size of the ring, the weight does come into it but its value may be slightly more than the gold content, finding someone to pay that price will need legwork and time. Also it depends on the condition of the claws holding the stones, the condition of the shank and it being in good shape ect. Agree with steffana if it isn't UK hallmarked its value can go down.
  17. This lot is for auction, starting bid is 10 % below sterling spot, all hallmarked, all sold as scrap but some interesting bits here. Highest bid at 8 pm wins! buyer pays postage of choice and risk (royal mail) 366 grams hallmarked sterling. £195 start bid.
