The mintage for the eagle is 14,000 all the others of the series was 15,000.The coins were issued in 2 versions standard $10 proof which weighs 20gms & piedfort which weighs 40 gms, these are all piedfort coins.

is that a bit like an ETF? I do currently hold share on the "London Stock Exchange" with "wisdomtree physical gold" through a share broker. the gold is sold in units of something I can not understand, but the gold bars are stored in a "HSBC bank" vault in "Hatton Gardens". I think im buying and selling the gold at spot price there. But there is still a very small fee to be paid to Wisdom tree then a brokers fee for trading. Unlike crypto currencies, not practical though if you want to use your share dealings to buy a cup of tea

I'm trying to complete my first tube of silver coins before turning my focus to larger bars and gold coins. Trying to keep the price reasonable as the rest of the tube was filled with no knowledge of this forum so I paid way more than I should have in premiums and VAT! 😂

Bought a couple of interesting graded 1887 double sovereigns. Images below.
the first is a very rare (R5) currency prooflike double (Marsh T24). The second the broken streamer variety of Marsh T26 (Scarce). The mintage of the former is estimated at 350 & you will see a number of differences to the conventional currency double, most visible is the positioning of the legend & BRITT in particular, the number of pearls on the crown & that the gap between the crown & rim. These differences were due to using a proof die on the obverse. Anyway enjoy

Some Victoria and Ed sovereigns

I've been doing some experiments with how to light the coins to flatter them without disguising their blemishes and without using overly flat lighting that washes out the detail.  I've got some more ratty Young Vics over on the sovs thread that have come out quite well with this lighting - see below.  This lighting doesn't hide anything, but I think it does a good job of showing the coins in their best light and bringing out their lustre.  The colours below are all over the place as I re-calibrated the camera half way through the shoot and couldn't be 4rsed re-doing the first coins.  These are composites of the coins taken individually and put together with Photoshop; the background is dark enough that the seams aren't really obvious but you will see it if you look carefully.
