The mintage is one of the smallest - 520,713. And that total figure includes the Shields too (which are believed to be the lower percentage of the total amount).

As per title and see images. Condition is ok. Seen better days but it is a rare coin so holds a good value over spot.
Asking £550.00 which I think is a good price for this one given how rarely these come up for sale.
Bank transfer or PayPal only. UK only, thanks.
    Andrew.

    Postage is additional!!!

Like @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer have stated, there are many reasons.

One reason why it is not advantageous for a bullion dealer to take credit cards is that it isn't possible to charge customers additional fees for using credit cards in the UK. I cite this government website here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/card-surcharge-ban-means-no-more-nasty-surprises-for-shoppers

Therefore if they were to incorporate the additional charges of taking credit cards, they would have to incorporate it into all of their products and for ALL customers, including those who pay with debit cards/bank transfer. There is not enough margin in bullion to be able to do that and be competitive, unless of course they were specialising in ONLY selling to customers with credit cards and wanted their business to sell to only that specific niche and didn't want to be competitive for the rest of the market.

There are many other reasons, possible charge backs and the stress and time dealing with disputes is another, all of this additional work (which may also require additional legal advise) would add to the overall costs of the business and ultimately the price of the product.

It is understandable why most dealers do not take credit cards.

There are some dealers who do take credit cards, though this can also come with other issues as pointed out in another topic where a member was charged a cash advance fee for doing so and daily interest on their purchase of a sovereign, it really is not recommended.

It is best to save up and then buy precious metals with cash/funds rather than on credit. As credit you have to pay back anyway, the only thing you potentially 'loose' is any rewards (points or cashback) from using a credit card, but those 'rewards' for the consumers and built into the card processing margins, another thing that shows how credit cards add additional costs to the item for consumers. Most industries can take these costs directly out of the product margin, but bullion has very tight margins.

Saving tip: For those who find it harder to save up money if they are tempted to spend it if it is in their bank account and who want to save for a larger precious metals item, you can consider getting an offline saving account, such as a branch only building society account with a passbook. You can send regular transfers to this account and won't be able to spend or withdraw the funds directly, you will need to go into a branch and transfer to your nominated bank account. This will make spontaneous purchases impossible, a great way for saving up for larger precious metals items. You can set up a regular standing order to this account also.

    Hey @goldlips,

We appreciate your comment and after speaking with Lawrence there is a whole host of reasons as to why as a business we do not currently accept this payment method.
We do however constantly look at ways of improving our service and would hate to think we have lost you as a customer due to this.
For any more information please email info@chards.co.uk and we will be happy to speak.

Thank you. We worked with a YouTuber to produce these TSF branded videos but in the end decided that the budget was better spent in other promotions (such as the large prize draws that we do) The TSF channel didn't seem to be that popular, perhaps the videos were too professional and corporate feeling? And people prefer to watch a person they can get to know and like, rather than a company itself.

We may do some partnerships in the future for some videos for the TSF channel, if there are some opportunities.

He hasn't been back since January, busy with producing videos for YT most likely as making videos must take up a huge amount of time. Hopefully he visits TSF in the future or mentions TSF in some future videos 😄

I have also watched some of his videos and they are great quality and very informative, especially for those new to precious metals. I know he has a nice collection of 1g Gold Bars.

ChrisSilver got a reaction from dbd in Buying uk gold from spain
Many bullion dealers around the world stock coins and bars from all the other countries, so no need to necessarily buy from a dealer in a different country. Though many dealers do of course ship worldwide also.
I am not sure what dealers there are in Spain but worth checking to see what coins they stock as they likely stock U.K. coins at similar prices to what you can get in the U.K. anyway?

Many people in the U.K. like the Britannia and Sovereign coins as well as other legal tender U.K. gold coins because they are CGT (capital gains tax) free in the U.K. though of course that doesn’t apply in Spain. I am not sure if there are any other similar type of benefits for owning Spanish gold in Spain.

I believe though may be mistaken that bullion/investment gold imported into the EU is tax free. That’s also the case for importing gold into the U.K. although it is relatively common for customs to make an error, charge import taxes etc, which then need to be claimed back.

You can also look at dealers such as @EuropeanMint and @EuropaBullion who are in Europe.
