2018 is almost here and I am already planning big things for the coming year! Here are a few of the plans I have for 2018. Leaf Ripple Series This is where BYB started. I stamped a leaf on the rippled side of a pour (to imitate the leaf creating ripples on the molten silver). I pour what I like and what people want. I try new moulds and weights and just pour what takes my fancy, call it dealers choice! The 2017 edition finished with 250 as the final mintage. In 2018 I will be starting the mintage from "001" again. The key part of this series is that every single piece that is made is videoed so that you can see it being poured. They will all be hallmarked and be branded with my "BYB" logo as well. I don't think we will get to 250 as a mintage again as this was stretched over 18 months since I started this adventure. But I estimate that we will get to 200. If you have got an existing piece in the "2017" edition and you would like to reserve your number again then just get in touch and let me know - if you would like the same shape or a different piece making this is totally possible as well! "BYB" Branded Investment Bars I plan on creating a limited mintage of both 1oz and 100g "BYB" branded investment bars for 2018. I am not sure of the mintage at this stage but they will probably be between 30 - 50 "1oz" bars and about 25 "100g" bars. 1oz & 100g Silver Forum Bars We will be creating 1oz and 100g Silver forum bars again in 2018. People who have a 2017 version of a bar will have first refusal of their existing serial numbers. More information on this will come out over the course of 2018. I am planning on having the 1 oz bars to be all done and released by the end of May 2018 and the 100g Bars to be released by the end of September 2018. 250g Silver Forum Bars Yes that is right - you heard it here first! We will be introducing a new weight of silver forum bars, 250g. We have not worked out the particulars at this stage but more information will follow in 2018. If you are interested in this size of bar please let me know. Due to the size of these bars they will likely be minted to order only and over the course of 2018. Brand new and exciting and original hand poured silver special releases Mrs BYB and I have been brainstorming lots over the last few months and have some really exciting ideas for some original designs. We don't want to ruin any surprises but we are quite excited about some of the ideas we have. Hopefully 2018 will see some of these come to life and prove exciting to all of you! Custom made hand poured silver pieces I will of course continue to make new pieces to request for really any occasion. If you want a special something for just you or a wedding, christening, anniversary or "whatever you like" present then just get in touch! Pouring Gold Yes that is right - GOLD - I want to give it a go, so watch this space! Getting the BYB Brand bigger and better! This last goal is to start expanding the BYB Brand to dealers. I am already talking with a few bullion dealers in Europe about some BYB bars that might end up on the global stage. Who knows - but it is one of my goals to get my products listed on some of the biggest dealers in Europe and North America. Along similar lines we are looking to expand to local trade. Small jewellery and nick nack shops in the UK primarily. If you know of any shops that might be interested in some hand made craft work then please point them my way! So as you can tell 2018 will be a very busy year! Please feel free to comment here with your thoughts and feedback! All that is left to say is have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! and I wish you all a very prosperous 2018!

I really haven't any idea of retirement plans that include PMs. I never looked into it or even considered it. I'm already retired going almost 2 years now. Anything extra is gravy! My thoughts on PMs haven't changed since I started which was wealth retention. I never thought I'd be looking for a 1979 Mexican onza on ebay instead I thought I'd buy generic silver for weight and end of story. Maybe you already guessed it, I didn't get much further than the few generic rounds that I have. I came into this with the plan of stacking many many oz of silver, instead my interests have turned to large sized old silver coins from around the world. Edit: Hmm, stacking silver for retirement? I thought about it for 3 seconds and I just don't see it. You'd need a large room or at least a large walk-in closet to stack enough silver for retirement. I don't have that kinda room. When I think I want to retain wealth, I'm thinking more in the lines of enough silver when switched to fiat, it'd amount to $100k. If I could achieve this then it'd be so cool, but the way things are going and with so many old coins around, I just have my doubts. Also I discovered that I wasted lots of time and energy looking at spot prices. Waiting for the spot price to go down another 25 cents to make that big 10oz silver bar purchase is just plain nuts. I think I have ways to go as a stacker/collector/flipper or whatever.

Received my 1911 Canada sovereign today, it is my 10th full sov so I’m chuffed! Im not to sure about grade, but I paid roughly the same amount of a Atkinson’s mixed sov. I already have a London mint 1911 so I will put that up for sale to get a different date as I want to try and get a sov for each year (1900-1932)

    which bullion dealer

Which bullion dealer will get it in the neck next. Rules are rules and they are as follows,. The dealer must sell bullion. the member must demand the highest quality coin (this must be in the members mind near perfect even though the coin is over 100 years old) The coin has to be worth at least 150% of its weight in gold though the member only wants to pay a premium of 5% -15% including postage. The member refuses to pay specialist coin shop prices Right who do you think it will be??😁😁😁😁

    Collecting old US Silver?

Finally! Something I know quite a bit about.... :-) Bottomline: putting together a set of nice Winged Liberty Dimes (also called Mercury Dimes), is relatively easy and cheap, especially for dates and mint marks from 1940 to 1945 (also called a "short set"). However a big caveat: if you complete a set of MS-65 Full Band dimes, it would take much time to break even on the investment (unless of course silver skyrockets). Why? Because there are tens-of-thousands of certified Mercury Dimes at MS-63 and above from these dates, and they trade more as a "commodity" than as a rare coin. The picture you posted is a 1943 MS-63 Merc Dime, but without the "full bands" designation. Full Bands means the strike is strong and crisp, to the extent you can see separation on the bands holding the faces together on the reverse of the coin. The MS-63 PCGS population for 1943: 91 coins in MS-63 without bands; 57 with full bands. In MS-65 Full Bands: 1130 coins; non FB: 1446 coins. And there are ~4000 coins graded higher. And this is just the PCGS population! I don't have ready access to the NGC populations, but I suspect they are about the same. What does that mean to your collecting strategy? Whatever you want it to mean! :-) But this series is easy to put together a very nice matched set of brilliant and white coins. Once you get older coins from 1935 and earlier, than the prices are all over the map. Thanks from Scotty at CoinFinders

It's a great time to be a silver stacker as we're in the ballpark range of prices that will never be seen again. Not only that, we have the luxury to cherry pick anything we want which wont be the case down the line. the shelves will be empty. Sure, it's entirely possible we get another drop to $10 or even $8 dollars at worst, but the risk to reward ratio over the longer term is insane.

OK guys it was ment to be a bit of fun. Plus I was trying to get the complainant coin collector and treads starter to think before he/she bought again. To educate himself/herself There is a saying, once bitten twice shy!!! I will not post again on this subject.

    Today I bought.....

Finally bought two gold coins that have been high on my list all through 2017: the 1 ounce 2017 Britannia 30th Anniversary bullion, and a 2017 American 1 ounce gold Eagle. Bought the Britannia directly with BTC (an interesting first for me..) and the AGE was from APMEX this week when they dropped the price way down, so both fell under the £1000 bar that is my psychological price barrier for buying an ounce of gold😉.
