Ok guys after tonight's fun I thought i would get this post out a bit early and let everyone know what has been raised. Appart from all the fun and games, I have seen first hand just how good people can be, there has been some incredible generosity. And the total figure is down to each and every person who contributed. I am going to update this post tomorrow with the actual video donation. There is a lot of thank yous i need to do..Where to start? Firstly I would like to thank @MickD @Jamesd @Piggybank @Peacemaker These guys directly donated from their stacks and made a huge difference to the total sums raised. Id like to thank everyone who made donations be it either on top of winning bids or independently - You guys made a real difference. Id also like to thank everyone who bid on the auctions. - Your generosity with your bids has made a real difference too. Id also like to thank @ChrisSIlver for approving the auctions and guiding me in the right direction (i was going to do tickets lucky dip but this would have added complications) I think I have remembered everyone - If i have not I am really sorry - I am overwhelmed by the support and participation. So what did we raise?????? Wait for it.,.. £453.33!!! A Big well done to everyone, thats a cracking amount and far exceeds what I thought possible when I first planned to do that and its all thanks to you guys. This pays for 1 hours of Scientific research from 9 of the brightest minds armed with microscopes and petridishes. That lab with 9 top qualified people will be running for an hour all on what we did..Who knows what discovery one of them may make! because of you. (the money is spent in different ways, but this link gives a break down on how it is spent:) https://www.mssociety.org.uk/research/explore-our-research/our-research-priorities/how-your-money-is-spent Here is the live video donation:) A big thank you you all. 👍

    Today I Received.....

Strictly speaking more of 'this last month, or so, i received....' post! I've just got back from a nice sunny break in Lisbon where i 'stumbled' accross "Numismatica Diamantino" which had a pretty impressive collection of coins from throughout Portugal's currency history. I could've stayed there all day looking through the books of individual coins from decades gone by, but a glare from both my parents and girlfriend called a halt to proceedings (who i'd somehow managed to convince i was merely 'popping in' as we 'passed by' as it was definitely 'on the route'.......!) Country: Portugal Year: 1960 Type: Circulating commemorative coin Value: 20, 10 & 5 Escudos Reverse: Bust of Prince Henry the Navigator Obverse: National coat of arms Composition: .800 Silver Country: Portugal Year: 1998 Type: Circulating commemorative coin Value: 500 Escudos Reverse: Vasco da Gama Bridge above sails of an old ship Obverse: National coat of arms Composition: .500 Silver Country: Portugal Year: 1992 Type: Circulating commemorative coin Value: 1000 Escudos Reverse: Discovery of the new world Obverse: National coat of arms in the centre with associated emblems Composition: .500 Silver I couldn't get my grubby mitts on a Ponte Salazar (the other Lisbon bridge) whilst i was out there, but since ordered one from eBay to add to the collection. Coincidentally there were 10 for sale here yesterday, which completely blew my mind as i spent hours looking for the right one online for the right price and i could've had 10 from TSF if i was quick enough! Also received 6 of these fantastic 2019 1oz Royal Coat of Arms bullion coins from our very own @StackSellRepeat. I can't get enough of these. I see a tube of these coming on! My first 16 Britannia's kickstarting the 'My First Tube' accomplishment! 2020 Royal Mint Lunar Rat. And last but by no means least, 6 of the East India Trading Company trade dollars (2 x US, British & Chinese) courtesy of our own @Stackerads and SilverTrader; and 1 solitary Spade Guinea with thanks to @richatthecroft. Not to everyone's taste for a 'presentation box coin' i know, but i find something very endearing with these coins (especially, of course, the Spade Guinea). I found myself wanting to pick them up when i first got them and thought a CoinGallery case would be the ideal answer to help scratch the silver itch! Looking forward to the Japanese and French dollars and perhaps another Guinea to fill the gaps!

Going on travel regrettably results in the following... Three Seljuk Sultanate Pale Gold Dinar (1072-1092 AD) VF (Crusades). These coins were struck in Pale Gold meaning that it has about an 80% Silver to 20% Gold ratio. Dinar #1 Dinar #2 Dinar #3 And here we have two Prince Albert 2019 Celebration Sovereigns, in all their magnificent glory and accompaniment for his two Queen Victoria’s received earlier! One from The Royal Mint... One from @TheCoinConnection!! Also, picked up a random selection Half Sovereign...receiving a 1987 sadly abused proof. And last, but my no means least, from the finest silver pouring craft-master himself, Mr. @BackyardBullion, a beautiful 2019 100g The Silver Forum Bar!!

Occurred to me whilst driving the other day that I have reached that 100 Silver ounce milestone - two full tubes of 2018 Britannia's and two full tubes of 2019 Britannia's plus a few extra foreign coins. Found I was able to reach that goal under budget and quite easily by way of careful buying and forum dealing. Overall my total Silver spend was vastly lower than what it would have been if I had bought from elsewhere in Europe. I'm happy with having 100 ounces thus far, so will now be concentrating on getting some Gold instead. As of now I will be buying nothing but a 1/4 to 1/2 ounce of Gold (unless a really good Silver deal pops up) each month based on a set monthly budget, and any excess budget left over every 3-4 months will be used to top up the gold with a few fractionals.

    Today I bought.....

The owner of the LCS I frequent opened a second shop about 30 miles from my house. It was opening day today, and since it was my day off, I drove over to check out the new store. I took over a six pack of beer as a store warming gift, and planned on making a modest purchase to celebrate the new shop. Of course he put a more significantly priced item in front of me that he had recently purchased that he knew I would have a hard time refusing. 1989 Double Sovereign. No box or COA, but he gave me a great price on it. And also bought a nice 1891 Jubilee Shilling. And I ended up being the first paying customer at the new store.

I went back to Leicester to visit the family home this weekend and went to the only coin shop I could find. Picked up some US half dollars for the stack. My uncle had finished a book on our family tree, he traced us in England back to 1727. This has now made me want to collect British coins on key dates for the family members. I bought my first crown, one of many to come.

I hope the sovereign reaches MS condition in grading. The 1/2 sovereign is my second. The first was a MS 61, I sold. The 6 Pence I would have thought was cleaned, at least the obverse. [Unscrupulous people back in the day used to gold-plate the 6 pence to look like a 1/2 sov. The RM changed to a different back design on the 6 pence later in the year.] The 1/2 Crown looks great.. I hope it's legit toning.

Can't thank @Madstacks enough for this amazing idea and as he knows this charity directly affects me and my family so a huge thank u to all involved and hope something similar can be done in the future. I am literally in Southampton as I write this as my wife was in the Ms department of Southampton hospital on Friday afternoon having here monthly tysabri infusion (MS treatment she flys over every single month for last 6 years) These treatments would not be possible without the MS society and all the people that donate around the world so once again a huge thanks to every one 😁

I got a call about 45 minutes after I placed my order, Hayden I think he said he was called, absolutely amazing salesman. I felt like I was in "The Wolf of Wall Street" when DiCaprio sells about a million penny stocks over the phone, and the guy on the other end felt like he was getting bargain stocks in this mega company that turned out to be a shed.

    Brexit status ...

Today has galvanised Brexit, I’ve spoken to people today that haven’t spoken to for a long time and they have changed their mind. They are just fed up with all this carrying on. Parliament will open, they will vote every thing down Boris puts forward. They would even vote against Christmas if he put it forward. Labour/SNP want and election but if it was put forward they won’t except it. I think a lot of ‘non voters’ will come out and vote for Brexit again if it came to that. too many people like @AndrewSL76 are going about accusing people of being racist and right wing for not thinking that we should be part of the EU and even if someone writes something innocent it perceived to have meaning that’s not intended. I’m just a farmer from Cornwall that is just fed up of Brexit, climate change etc and it ALL BEING ‘OUR’ FAULT. But the backlash has started and hope that common sense will prevail in the end

Interesting conference. Plans revealed so far; Private schools assets to be seized and redistributed. Re-nationalise mail, rail and energy firms. Under 18's to be paid normal wages (in other words no part time jobs for the young anymore) Free care for the elderly (65+). 65 is the new 80. Plans in place to buy 30,000 state owned electric vehicles to rent to the public, because in communist England, car owns you. Abolish NHS prescription charges in England. Four day working week to pay for it all. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49798357 They want to accelerate the decent into hell faster it seems, finish what Blair and Brown started.

I just liked the eagle on the front and had the year I was born on it but this makes it way more interesting. I found this info on goldsilverbull The 10 oz 1981 U.S. Assay Office silver bars were part of a strategic move by the government to drive down the price of Silver after the Hunt brothers attempted to "corner" the market. Having over 165 million ounces of Silver the government decided to flood the market with their abundance of physical precious metal which in turn caused the price to fall significantly.

It also means they have come to the conclusion that mass uncontrolled migration into this country from external low IQ turd holes is beginning to take shape. As said turd holes are statistically more likely to vote for big government socialist welfare because they haven't got the civilised brain cells to compete with normal IQ natives, hence why they will vote for whomever gives them free stuff (ie our tax money). It means our once beautiful freedom loving country has been culturally poisoned and politically polluted beyond repair and is now firmly on track to be Lebanon MkII. So glad I don't have any Daughters as I dread to think the society they will have to survive through in another 2-3 decades. And don't you frakking dare speak out against it, or you're a damn-evil-white-privileged-supremacist-racist-patriarchal-supporting-anti-(socialist)-free-speech-anti-(socialist)-democratic-war-mongering-brown-skin-murdering-anti-abortion(child murder)supporting-capitalist pig dog!!!!

Sadly My children go to a school where parents and children demean and ridicule Margaret Thatcher. Personally I am admirer - a woman who got to the top despite the odds. A grafter, and someone who had beliefs about personal freedoms. I find it amazing that there is such hatred for someone. I don’t see this for Blair despite his record on Iraq.
