  2. I love 1/4s but are now slightly a step to far for me but i can still do sovereigns. Ive got an oz that a mate lent me the money for. Feels like an age paying him off. Hes cool and im keeping up with the payments (no interest). Definitely punching out of my weight with 1oz gold. I'll be keeping that coin to the end though. It owes me more than just monetary value. Sovereigns for me from now on in. We arnt all big players in this game, just happy to be part of it.
  3. The sovereign was the chief bullion coin of the world. UK troops were issued sovereigns to barter with during the Gulf Wars iirc.
  4. I think that's the first time I've seen that opinion stated. I've never tried selling gold abroad, but from watching stacking-related content from other countries it seems to me that ounces/fractions of an ounce are much more popular outside of the UK and perhaps a couple of commonwealth countries.
  5. Sovereigns easily. Smaller purchasing price and they hit both the bullion and the numismatic market. I would also argue that the sovereign is recognised worldwide probably much more than bullion ounces - thinking beyond the Western markets here. Remember sovereigns have been actively counterfeited in the Middle East and Asia, can you say the same for Britannias? - Not counting China as they copy EVERYTHING!
