Goldsilver.be: no progress. Are they on holiday?

Last Tuesday I made an order of more than £1k at Goldsilver.be. I usually receive their confirmation that the money has been received the very next day. This time the order is pending at "Order confirmed".

The only difference between now and before is that previously I paid from a real bank account in Europe. This time I  paid through Transferwise and the payment shows as received on TW's platform.

It is true that, while ordering, I got a warning saying there would be no shipping until the 13th, but this should have been yesterday and by today they should at least have confirmed the money in.

I also sent them an email yesterday but no response yet. They usually reply straight away. I hope it's simply a case of them being on holiday.

Maybe I'm worrying too much but still it's £1200 of my hard earned money, if you know what I mean...

I have a similar problem.

I ordered two specific Gold Sovereigns from Chard the other day, they said the transaction was successful, I didn't hear anything until I emailed them today, all they said is we've given you a ticket, which leaves me to suspect they didn't have the coins that I ordered, although they were advertised.

Rather frustrating, there is something to be said for just walking into a shop buying something, then walking out with it.

I get very envious of US stackers in the way they have a ton of local coin shops that stack bullion you can just pop in anytime to take a look at.

Totally agree...not much chance of that here in the UK.

Don't be too envious...before I visited NY for the first time, I assumed the entire state looked like Manhattan.  When I got up around the Great Lakes area of NY, it looked like something out of The Beverly Hillbillies or The Dukes of Hazard  (Please tell me you all have seen those shows).

I know you may envision us going from one LCS to the next not knowing which one we should visit next but it really does depend on where you live.  Raleigh (NC) has a few but nothing that couldn't be knocked out on a Saturday afternoon (and likely having nothing I'm interested in).  I will say the one decent outfit not too far from me is Pinehurst Coin Exchange.  You may have seen them on eBay as PCE.  They're about 45 min from my house.

Anywho, I'm envious that you all have how many websites that sell oodles of Sovereigns?  Trying to find those in any decent supply over here is like trying to find a black cat in a coal cellar.  We just need to start hooking each other up!

Bank wires to a reputable company is safe. There maybe a delay from the mint which could cause a backlog of orders. I wouldn't worry but I do know how it feels to send bank wires and be waiting for confirmation.

Transferwise is good, goldsilver will have received your funds if the transferwise site/email told you they received them.

Their number is on the top left of the home webpage.

I've received an automated notification that the order has just been shipped. Good! But... despite multiple emails, no direct contact and no explanation for the delay. I hope the shipping will arrive in good conditions. For the next order, I'll have to think a thousand times before ordering from goldsilver.be again. Rock bottom prices, yes, but zero customer service is a bit too much for me to stomach.

Silver2go is the alternative option. Marginally more expensive but tried and tested and I believe they offer a very good customer service. So, much food for thought!

A little update on my recent experience with Goldsilver.be. Unrequested, but I thought it would benefit the silverbug community anyway.

I eventually received the long awaited box with a kilo coin and 40 ounces. The kilo appears in excellent condition. I was a bit put off by previous reviews of dented or cracked kilo coins. This was ok.

I couldn't phone Goldsilver.be because for security reasons I'm not allowed to use my phone during working hours and I can only receive incoming calls from our customers. So it took several emails for someone to answer me. I'm not going to reveal his/her name. Suffice to say their English is basic at best. Apparently someone at Goldsilver.be did not spot my payment on their bank account! Nothing tragic but if it's true, it is not very professional. If it's not true, it's a pathetic excuse and if that had happened to me, I'd have at least apologised and used other words. But like I said in the past, I have experience of dealing with Belgians and customer service is just not their strong point.

Will I order again from them? I'm 50/50 about it. Imagine there was a serious problem with the order. Would they act? How many emails would it take for them to notice?

I really hope they are reading this and maybe get an account on here and start communicating better.

At the end of the day they owe a lot to this forum!

I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank my fellow forum members for their recommendations and I hope my review is taken as it is meant to be : an honest peer to peer help and not necessarily an opportunity to slag a dealer off.

Agree with this review, I gave Goldsilver.be a Second chance and they Still ignored me. I will not order from this company they have had their chance, Toodle Pip.

Hi @Xander, sorry for the delay, I have only just seen this and am concerned that you have ordered something that you haven't received.

The only sovereigns that we don't have in stock that we have accepted orders for are the 2017 200 Anniversary Strike on the Day BU Sovereigns. We sold this as a pre-order coin and we generally receive the coins 2-3 weeks after the Royal Mint release the coins. We were expecting delivery around the 21 July but the Royal Mint had printed the wrong information on the certificates and our allocation was held back to replace the incorrect certs with the correct ones. This has been reported at length on this forum. We are expecting delivery of these coins imminently and will be contacting anyone who ordered one to arrange delivery as soon as they arrive. With regard to other sovereigns, we do not out-source coins so if we don't have coins in stock we don't sell them. Please could you either contact me with a DM here with your details or call me on 01253 343081 so that I can check exactly what happened with your order.
Thank you, Lizzie

Hi, Lizzie

I received my coins ok, I was no doubt being a little enthusiast and impatient, I also received another three exellent19th century Gold Sovereigns from Chard this week. I apologise if my post sounded critical as I have always received excellent service from Chard.
