Buying from HGM usually mirrors the spot price and is indicative of the supply v demand equilibrium. When gold is perceived as expensive stock levels usually rise as people cash in on the price and people stop buying. When prices drop people don't want to sell, but people are looking to buy; thus stock levels drop.

HGM update their listing as and when stock becomes available, thus it is also a good thing to log on a few times a day to see what has come in. Under the old web format you were able to set up alerts from specific items and which worked well. Since they have had the revamp not so certain how well this now works

I would imagine they have lost money recently as they've been carrying a fair bit of stock for weeks bought at higher spot prices. They seem to have sold most of it recently at lower prices levels. Hopefully their buying/selling in the meantime will have kept profitability and liquidity stable.

Not many people sell immediately after a sharp price decrease. If we stay here for a few weeks then stock will come back.

Yep I agree it was just the very low stock that surprised me virtually everything was out of stock
