Also, just a little side note, apparently the RM plan with the 1/4oz proofs is to release England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales in that order then the rest will follow

They might use a Guinness glass

I found the Guinness sauce better than the actual drink especially use on the steak

So I received my coin today - and I am quit upset - scratch marks in the fields on both sides of the coin. Seen under 7x magnification - they are there. So what do I do , being across the pond and now that the coin is sold out - will they replace it and how can they if they have no more left - anyone with any suggestions - would be appreciated.

Yes , you can ring royal mint to see weather they will replace your coin

they normally have a few spares left for replacement

I will call them on Monday to find out my options - if they do send out returned pieces - that is a real crappy policy. This really has turned me off from collecting the rest of the series - the coin is already super expensive and then you have the issue of quality when you get it. Enough complaining - I'm over it.

note: even if they give you a replacement, it is very likely that they will send you those (return for exchange )  from other buyers , so do ask for a new one if they have a new one

Fortunately, I received my 1 oz Silver Proof yesterday from the RM and it looks to be in good shape. I do need to run out and pick up a bottle of compressed air, I think there's a bit of lint (I hope it's lint) on the coin and I'm not going to try and blow it off...my luck, I'd spit on the coin!

I will say I was expecting a box on my doorstep and instead I found a small flimsy mailer in my mailbox. Given the miles this thing had to travel over the pond, I'd hoped for a bit more protection.

Mine arrived today (well it arrived a few days ago but I couldn't pick it up from Post Office until today!)

All good in terms of quality :-)

Just called the mint - no replacements available - will be sending it back - and that will close the collection for the proof beasts for me.

it is a shame but that's how it goes sometimes.

Maybe sell on eBay ??? Someone is selling them for 599 pounds , some sold
