Questions from a (real) newbie:

1) Were 'shield backs' issued alongside the George and Dragon for those years, or was it a replacement design? If the latter, why do these command higher premiums?

2) As there's no denomination on a Sov, where does the £1 come from, and how are these legal tender?

Lovely to see such a small fractional looked at - and a lovely coin indeed!

I have a 1/25th fractional proof and that is small enough for me to try to take a look at!
