I've always been interested in old coins, thanks to tins of expired world currency that we had at home, but only recently started to acquire a collection of my own.

When I got my first silver half crown the silver bug bit me. I won 3rd prize in a GAW by BackyardBullion and the forum's card was in the delivery, so here I am!

Welcome to the forum. I watched that video, lol.

Wheres abouts in Ireland are you from Buddy? Reason i ask cause im in the north and there are no bullion shops up here. There are a few coin shops but they carry almost no silver at all. Buying a few oz's from a shop is still on my wish list after 4 years of stacking. Every single piece i own has been got online one way are the other.

And can you buy vat free cause your in ''europe''?

Make new friends but keep the old.

One is silver and the other gold

@jayboat we're in the same boat, then.

There used to be a wee coin, medal and bookshop up here but the place closed down before I discovered I liked coins that much.

Have you ever tried going into places like Cash Generators / Cash Converters and their many variations? I was thinking about searching their websites occasionally, because I seem to recall a short while back some of their branches had pre-owned gold and silver bullion of a sort. Not sure if they'd order it in from other branches, but it's worth looking into.

I straddle the border, with friends and family on both sides, so I feel relatively Brexit-proof here. If group ordering ever becomes a problem for UK residents, I could have an option still, unless they start frisking people at checkpoints again. In which case I'm not ordering any silver bullets, haha.
