Cheapest Tube of Gold coins

Recommended Posts

So, I'm looking to buy an amount of bullion that looks complete,

With this in mind, I've been looking to buy 20x 1/10  Philharmonikers as I like the idea of owning a tube,

But, goldline are doing 1/10 gold maples for a bit cheaper, but these come in crummy sealed packets,

Whats my best chance at owning a nice shiny tube of gold coins?

i would get the Maples, especially if you can get them at a better price and then put them in capsules.

i suspect in due course if and when you come to sell, your coins will be in good condition [encapsulated coins present better and so sell better] and my feeling is they will fetch a better price than the Philharmonics.

You can still probably find a tube or tubes that will take coins in capsules.

I appreciate this, but there's something about a sealed tube that I like; I love tubes of 1/4 silver Noah's!

I recognise that the maples are the better investment; from being a better price, being more sought after and ending up in better condition.

I like the fact that a sealed tube would be compact

The 1/10oz gold Maples and Philharmonics are the same diameter [16mm] so you could get a Philharmonic tube and they would be compact.

i still think putting 999 purity [soft] gold coins in a capsule is the best idea in the long run unless concealment is the goal.

The philharmonics are a pretty good coin in gold and so is the maple in gold IMO.  If i was you i would buy one of each and see for yourself which you prefer.  The philharmonics sell quite well in Europe.

You could always get both with a view of a long term goal  stack of 2 tubes :)

I'm not sure fractional today prices can be trusted in years to come, i like gold kangaroo's but i do not buy them any more, they are very well made they just do not return.
