General Election In the UK - more uncertainty for Gold and Silver?

Recommended Posts

So Theresa may is seeking a general election!

What this means for Gold and Silver...any thoughts?

I don't want to annoy anyone by siding with any particular political party but what outcomes would be best for precious metals?

I think this will cause uncertainty in the next few weeks and prices will go up probably...

Long term...I cannot see the conservatives losing and therefore we will have a hard brexit and that will possibly hurt the value of the £ in the next 2 years!

Thoughts...and try to make this thread about Precious Metals impacts rather than political ideals!

The impact might come in the value of the £

Uncertainty of the UK and it's political future might knock the £ back drown from its recent gains...thus increasing the cost of gold for those who earn and buy in £

"Uncertainty for next few weeks" just make that decades,if we are all still here.

Makes no difference, aint going to solve any geo political issues or solve the debt crisis.................probably pull back short term,Pound probably suffer...............long term 5 -10 years I'm still extremely bullish about PMs' and will buy at every opportunity I can.............world uncertainty just increases every day.

I did not think she would call an election.

I see the election as a positive move for the country.  I believe who ever wins they will have a mandate to move forward. IMO the Tories will win with a greater majority giving May a free hand to move forward in a strong position. As far as Gold goes I believe the stronger £ will be offset by volatility because of world events and buying Gold is a long term investment as Gold is the best/ most secure store of money thats why I buy Gold.

I have to say if Labour win it may be better for the Gold price as Labour may build more Homes and the housing bubble would pop earlier.
