Silver gifts or charitable donations?

I know this may not bode well with the self preservation society but I love to give out silver gifts to my nearest and dearest.

For example: I always give a 1oz silver coin when there's a newborn. I'm In the U.K so usually a Britania with the birth year.

Today I donated a 5oz Westminster proof to a military charity :- Falklands 25th Anniversary coin, which will be auctioned to raise money for injured servicemen.

I've always found silver to be a great gift in any form. What are your thoughts/experiences?

I do the same for my niece, also gave my dad some.

Personally i would like to give coins as a gift to all close family maybe friends.

Only for the most of them would it not be interesting because they will have to little of it.

I've given out coins and bars to family as well as some close friends.

My dad had one of my 250gm Umicore silver bars but he did give me his collection of shillings etc that he collected when he was a bus driver. He liked the idea of owning a silver bar. He had his eye on my 2017 proof sovereign as the Latin motto is the same as what his old regiment, the Grenadier Guards, use. My generosity didn't stretch that far though!

I am collecting a set of britannias for my god son so that when he turns 18 he will have a good set and maybe it will be worth a good amount to him!

If ever you wanted something more interesting than a coin then some customised hand poured silver would work great! Here is a portfolio of all the pieces I have made for people!

Same premise as giving a silver coin, but hopefully one that somebody would appreciate more!

My niece loves butterflys.

Do you think a butterfly shape is possible ?

Or a round/square shape with a butterfly print and her name ?
