I just watched a silver Panda 1 oz ( year 2000 ) coin sell for £255 with a bidding frenzy on the Bay.
The pictures were small and you could never check details.
The seller has only sold a couple of coins.

This is his total description copied and pasted -

.999 Ag 1 oz Silver Panda
    En Capsulated
    As shown nice coin

Here is the original listing -

Here is a different auction for a fake 2000 Panda with high resolution pictures - price each coin £7.88 only !!!

Would you have paid £255 in this auction ???

Just in case some of you think I am looking to buy this particular coin and offering help - thanks guys but I am only posting this thread for info.

I discovered the Panda sale as I am monitoring this seller with whom I had a resolution Centre battle recently after he sold me some real crap proof coins described as "Immaculate Mint" condition.

Would i buy the coin?

No i would not buy - i can get a better price elsewhere, even if this sale is 100%

I searched for the coin on ebay but could not find it. I need to see a good photo.

I want to see the feedback. i want to suss out the profile especially on something like a high price Panda.

i have only bought off dealers on ebay. i only buy off dealers or people on the silver forum.

Anyone happy to partake in selling 'crappy proofs' as 'mint' will have in his eBay arsenal the tools shill bidding to bid his items up as well.

Don't expect all is as it seems.

Sadly, bidded up items, number of active watches, unique item visit page impressions, number of previous items sold work in the invisible eBay background algorithm to shoot up items into the 'best match' default search results.
