the trouble with bullion is that although silver can go up signifantly, it takes time

to do so, I read somewhere that silver has a 40yr cycle. semi numismatic however

can go up within a few years, even within a year if you're very lucky.

which one you buy depends on your strategy of how long you plan to hold it for.

I vote kooks/libs.

Fifth'd.

Semi-numi appreciates because of what it is within a few years so it'll always be worth more than generic bullion if the silver price is a bit "meh" but can still take advantage of silver price increases too which is the main guts behind why people buy generic in the first place in bulk.

Libertads won't increase in premium like kooks. If your planning on selling direct to the secondary market via the forum or eBay etc then go for the kooks, in a couple of years you should be able to sell for a profit even if spot price is exactly the same.

There are 20 kookaburra coins per mint sealed roll.

Libertads, maples, philamonics come in plastic tubes.

My posts are my personal opinions, they do not constitute advice or financial advice.

Best to get a mix, think about it if the silver price goes up we all do well so then we all take profits.

There will then be loads of semi numericals on the market bringing the premiums down (think about the Lunar dragon).  If silver does ok to badly collectors and stacker's hold on the there metal semi numericals premiums go up because other collectors cannot get hold of rare coins (we know that they are not that rare really).

While bu coins are the price you pay minus the spread (dealers charge) can be spot -2% though I have noticed this varies.  Plus you can sell bu coins quickly, no messing around on Ebay.

Thats why I go for the mix approach.  So I think you have it right yourself mixing it.

I bought a croc and it is steadily going up in value, i vote a roll of the premium stuff i think it gives you a short term option as well.Cheap as chips stuff is great if your young, but i think these premium perth mint stuff will reward better over all.

Pandas is something to consider, although they come in sheets and harder to stack. Internationally, they're in higher demand than kooks and probably more than Australian Lunars as well. But they're also much more counterfeited than kooks, lunars, libs, and maples.
