Tesco Vouchers - Goldsmith.

Recommended Posts

So likely stupid question here..

I use a Tesco credit card for all purchases, including those for my business so i get a fair amount of points, which tend to get used on crap.. So was thinking of just starting to use the codes for the goldsmith vouchers everything 3 months, basically i have £90 of vouchers about to expire end of Feb, and was thinking of using those to £270 of gold smith vouchers, while Goldsmiths is an expensive jewelers I'm basically getting something at a large discount, and can pick something which is 18ct gold and through it in the safe for prosperity... Doing that a couple of times a year and keeping the gold seems an easy way of saving?

Thoughts?

If you want to convert shopping points into precious metals then I would highly recommend Nectar through Sainsbury's.

I never paid attention to points and then I checked after about 8 years and had about £250 worth of points to spend. You can get Ebay vouchers. Lots of free silver for me!

I now really pay attention to the nectar points and offers and it all adds up! I recon in the last 6 months I have had about £60 worth of Ebay vouchers which I have used to get PM via ebay!

Of course this does mean switching your regular show to Sainsbury's!

Shop?

I find Sainsbury's expensive and difficult to shop at. You'll spend (waste) at least the value of any Nectar points obtained on excess prices.

Yeah I meant shop!

Sainsbury's may not be the cheapest for sure, but we have found that the quality far exceeds Tesco for things like fresh fruit and veg, fish and meat too. #

Its each to their own though!

I find Aldi and Lidl very good for F&V;)

I have 2 Sainsbury's quite close and even though they seem enormous, I just don't find they have the range and choice of other large supermarkets.

I haven't looked into the pros and cons, of these offers from the supermarkets Nectar or Tesco points.

On the flip side of simplicity, i have my Nationwide Select credit card and it pays unlimited 0.5% cashback on all purchases, paid once annually.

A free £5 for every £1000 spent, so if you are doing 100s of miles up and down country in fuel that could easily add up

I'm not a big spender and always prefer to use cash for everything, so i always .

But I use it here and there to keep my credit file active, last December I had enough for a few free oz of silver from my monthly spends over the year

Pros for me at Sainsburys are that I prefer there own produce e.g fruit, veg & meat. I also get points at the same time. The general shop is quieter than Asda or Tesco so not much waiting time to be served.
Cons are that its probably a tad bit more expensive.
