It is my parent golden wedding this year, and I am thinking about getting them something in gold as a gift. A coin is just too........ business like? lol

 

Any ideas?

Snap, my parent's fiftieth is in September. I hadn't thought of getting them something gold. Mmmmmmm interesting. I might try and get them a gold coin with their birth years on it 1942, 1944. I can't get sovs, because they didn't mint in those years, but there must be other gold coins from other countries that could work. I need to do a search.

Scratch that idea. I've a choice of either Turkish gold coins, who don't use our numerals, or coins from the vatican with a mintage of only 1000 each year. Not even I can afford those type of coins.

 

Oh well back to the drawing board.............Maybe 1842 and 1844 sovs. I can track those down quite easily.

Good idea on both counts. 1964 and 2014 Sovs are easier to get

I did see this on coininvest, I was thinking of getting for the girlfriend, I don't know if it's something you'd get for a golden wedding present or not?
