Best alternatives to eBay?

I have tried here two listings very well priced and no interest yet.

ebay the same exact strikes are selling for far more than I have listed them here.

but I hate the high fees with eBay.

also you can't do auctions here, at least an auction you know it will definitely sell at the end.

The thing is mate I don't think you will find much love on here for the rip off that was the royal mint face value range or for coloured coins.

i see there is a UK seller of Silver Shield members rounds on this site.

The reason i ask is i joined the Silver Shield exchange only to find i am effectively barred from it as i do not have a US bank account. When i looked into getting a US account, not being a US citizen/resident the way forward on getting a US bank account is problematical.

Why don't you advertise your coins on there?

It's not free, it's seems a bit expensive to advertise, but then there is no fee when you sell.

not sure how good it is, has anybody else here used it?

http://www.limitedsilverstrikes.com

ebay makes it free to list and charge when you sell.

what other options are there?

Don Harrold used to have a silver auction site called pitbid.com

i think stellaconcepts used to have one also, can't remember the name.

there was another one in the uk called purabid.co.uk or something, from ours metals.

none have ever been able to compete with the mighty eBay monopoly, I wonder if http://www.limitedsilverstrikes.com can actually take some of the market share for bullion and silver strikes?

Maybe but if they do, you should sue them for plagiarizing your username ;)

I suggest you compare the final amount of cash you would receive if selling on eBay.
Forget the Buy it Now prices etc and check the sold auctions then deduct 15%.
Don't overlook auctions that end with a low price due to timing or bad luck - if the seller.
That sets the benchmark then try advertising on this forum around the benchmark price.
Perhaps you can get 5% more but many of us on this forum are experienced and many on eBay aren't.

If you really want to minimise fees then list your coin on the alternative site to eBay called e-Bid.
Unfortunately this site is less well known compared to eBay but I have used it and it works exactly the same as eBay.
If you have popular coins and price fairly then I would suggest this forum first then eBay or e-Bid if you get no luck.

Thanks for that, yes Ebid is a good alternative.

another option is open bazaar, but that is only for Bitcoin

eBid is horrible, full of historical listings linked to sellers that are now inactive.

whatever you do, do not pay for a sellers account

I've only briefly browsed eBid, but completely agree - it seems as if they don't remove past listings from the search results :o

It's a shame Ebid couldn't be a real competitor to the mighty monopoly that is feebay.

i would love to see a dedicated silver version of eBay that is international and had free listing fees like eBay but lower selling fees than the fee beast.

i like http://www.limitedsilverstrikes.com/other-silver/silver-rounds

but as said before $1 listing fees is too much, I would prefer free listing fees and then wouldn't mind $1 or so selling fees. But I don't want to pay if the item doesn't sell.

im not affiliated with limited silver strikes at all even though similar names :)
