eBay Bucks

Recommended Posts

I regularly watch Silverfish VT's YouTube channel and he's always saying about getting silver at spot after taking advantage of the eBay Bucks scheme.

Are there any US members here who do the same because he's absolutely loving it at the moment.

In the UK we hae Nectar points sometimes on ebay purchases, I've never taken advantage of them though, does anyone else?

Just be aware of the really poor conversion rate with nectar points, every £1 you spend earns you 1 nectar point & 500 nectar points (or £500) gives you £2.50 to spend.

Whilst that is true, if you use ebay for purchases, it is worth having a nectar card. Getting £2.50 for spending £500, equates to a 1/2% discount. It may not be much, but considering banks are only paying 1-1.5%, then 0.5% on purchases is not to be sniffed at in the long run. Obviously you have to be smart and disciplined in your ebay purchases, not to buy something for more than you can buy elsewehere, but it is possible. Not in the league of the worth of the ebay bucks scheme, but it's money for nothing, and that can't be bad.

I've also changed my petrol shopping habits, all the stations round here are pretty much the same in cost, So rather than go to my nearest one, an Esso, as I do usually, I now drive to the BP one, (which I pass on my usual travels anyway, and was actually cheaper by 1p than my normal garage yesterday) . I can get 30-50 points a week that way, That could get me a couple of free oz's of silver a year. Yeah its not much, but its cost me nothing to get.

How do you get them?

Not too sure as not in the US but from what little I do understand, certain regular users of eBay are rewarded with these "gift vouchers" aka eBay Bucks whereby they are able to get money off almost any purchase, meaning that some people on YouTube have been picking up certain Perth Mint stuff for spot.

Do you have anything like that in Sweden Bosse68? In the UK the nectar points don't really interest me as the savings are minimal.
