a total global collapse that removed all money is unlikely to happen any time soon if it did anyone with Gold may well have it removed from them by the masses in a less than gentle manner. Have you seen looters after riots or hurricanes

imo

it's hard to say as we are in an uncharted area with negative interests rates as all current monetary manipulation such as tax , interest rates changes and QE don't work at these interest rate levels

there will be several recessions and collapses of various degrees  in my lifetime

I feel the euro will fail as they dont have monetary AND fiscal policy, plus several of the countries using it love to spend rather frivolously and seem less interested in collecting taxes.

 

some countries are trying to money less with crypto currencies but there entire world going this way with every transaction   is highly  unlikely and impractical

gold and silver is great as a protection against inflation and a huge against property and share crashes
