Current Ebay Deal Thread (BIN & Last 24HR Bidding)

Ending soon.

By my calculation, it's about £2370 at spot.

Could be a good haul if it goes for the £2100 it's at, but I suspect there's a few quid to go on there yet.

It's been for sale for a while, started at £3300 iirc.

Worth nowhere near that, I'd be surprised if they got £2K for it.

Wonder how much it originally cost because Pobjo mint stuff is not cheap.  But then, it was minted in 2001 when silver was like 5p/ounce.

In 2001 it was about £5/oz.

So working that back, at spot it would have been £483ish.

Probably double or treble that for actual purchase price (a guess, not based on fact). I reckon a £999.99 sale price.

Personally, I wouldn't pay spot + VAT for it now.

BRITANNIA 2007 PLATINUM PROOF 4 COIN SET

mintage 250, god knows if this is a good deal or not but damn thats a low mintage!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITANNIA-2007-PLATINUM-PROOF-4-COIN-SET-/291187532554?pt=Coins_BritishProofs_RL&hash=item43cc21230a

58.064g of Platinum, at £28.42 / oz. = £1650 at spot.

£2750 is 66.66% over spot, or put it another way, over a grand for a COA and a nice black box.  :)

gotta admit that does seem a bit steep, but then with such a low mintage and quality collectable Britannias its gota be worth a fair premium over spot?

Platinum isn't my thing really and id imagine its quite a lot less liquid than silver or gold, but damn they are nice coins!

Had to put this up, I just spotted the auction as it was finishing.

£97.01 for a 2006 silver proof Britannia. Now that is a cracking price for the seller.
