The Queens Head

Recommended Posts

This might be a bit strange,

But I was just thinking about Coins etc etc and how different ones cost more etc etc, so the question is, when the Queen dies will they replace her head.

If they do who thinks the coins with the Queens head will gain in value.

They will make a new effigy of the new monarch.

Increase in value will depend on the coin. Do you mean circulated British coins? Because kookaburras for example I don't see any gaining in price as they are minted to maximum anyway, but other coins might become collectible though it will take them years and years to phase out the old circulated coins and replace them for new.

Of course Charlie will have his head on newly issued coins when our Queen sadly moves on.

And then we will be in the Carolean period not Charlesian. Of course Charles may well change his name on accession to the throne.

That would take a bit of getting used to though to suddenly calling him George or William.

I heard ages ago that there is a good chance he will take the name George on succession. I found this quote online.

"Prince Charles' grandfather's given name was Prince Albert but he chose to rule as King George VI. It is now speculated that Prince Charles may follow the footsteps of his grandfather and rule as King George VII."

That sort of crap might have been OK back then, but in today's modern, highly-connected world, where he is known as Prince Charles all over the globe, I'd have thought it would be faintly ridiculous. still this is the Royal family, so not out of the question.
