Apmex have dropped their price on the 2016 bullion 1/4oz Libertad. According to mintage figures, only 1000 of these have been minted and i think @Numistackermentioned they were a key or semi-key date. First time i saw these they were $385. 169 left

When I looked into buying from apmex last year  they wouldn't/ couldn't  will look again

Hi, the postage is a bit expensive $49.95.

How do people get round it?

Thanks

Dougie

The way i offset the postage was by buying two , i also payed a £9 transfer fee , maybe with the 2017 Libertads the forum could do a group buy .

What about VAT, did it get pulled by customs?

Will be declared as investment gold and NIL VAT & Duty.  UPS may require a signed declaration but that's straight forward.

Yup

Not sure what the rules etc are for Germany.  For the UK it will come through without charges.  Apmex will correctly declare the gold shipment.

How about Goldmoney? Goldmoney allows you to buy gold for .05% over spot. Hard to beat! Www.goldmoney.com

Or www.bullionvault.com plus no doubt a few others as well.  This thread is for items to be taken into personal possession and not allocated storage.

I believe you mean 0.5%.

0.5% deposit and redemption fee.

Organising a group buy is a pain in the ar-e,

I have bought from Apmex they reguarly use the wrong commodity code so you would have to sort that out too.  There are threads on this site about importing gold from outside the EU.  Lots of members have imported gold  with various success.

So

1 you will have to know your commodity code

2 make sure the delivery is door to door

3 ring courier and tell them it is investment gold

4 do not buy gold and silver together!!!!!

Not so much bargain buys but an eBay seller has a few rarer slabbed gold panda up for grabs.  To rich for my liking but thought i would share the love here for anyone who may be interested

Although lowish feedback, all their previous sales are gold so all should be OK

When did HGM stop displaying the price relative to spot, +3% etc? It didn't even occur to me that the brit premium was so high. I always thought that was a very handy feature, why drop it?

I noticed this a few weeks ago. Their website stated previously they show percentage above spot for transparency. I wonder if this change has been an oversight or if they are becoming opaque?

Flash sale on the Royal Mint bullion site. 33% off everything until 8am tomorrow.

edit; It's 33% off the premium. Not much of a deal then considering their prices are higher than most dealers:-(

Thanks @MickB I have been throwing odd cash over to Royal Mint from my bank account for a few months now, rounds down amounts, £10s and £20s here and there.

Got enough for a cheapy 1/4 gold griffin today, and doesn't even feel like i've laid out any cash for it.  the 1/4 griffin is nearly £15 cheaper than Atkinsons now

Thanks for posting

Seems that their site can't handle more than 2 people on at once.  Stalls during checkout.  Been on the phone to them and they have confirmed issues with their website.

Probably loads of people thinking it's 33% off the total price that's slowing it down?
