Maybe but after € to £ it is £506 - still not bad for a bit of 19 year old bullion!

Can be added to the GS.be order if anyone wants it!

EDIT: not under spot. Their description is wrong,it's £30 over spot.

HGM has a liberty 1 ounce for under spot by the looks of it.

Current spot: £940

their price £937

even with shipping it looks like a good deal, wish wasn't skint at the moment!

Isn't the bullion value just under £910?

They are 21.6 ct gold.

I think they contain 30.96 pure gold. So you are right. They need to fix their description. It says each coin contains 1 ounce of pure gold.

None of the examples on Numista are an ounce fine. Looks like it has fine gold content of 0.9675 troy oz (30.0926 grams).

Someone's playing fast and loose with the definition of ounce.

BullionbyPost have these stats on it:

Weight (grams): 33.43

Pure gold content (grams): 30.087

Fineness: 900.0

Someone, over on Today I Received, mentioned getting gold bullion from them that was still gold, but not legit coinage.

(Presumably it wasn't the full carat, or why bother making the fakes?) If it's full carat well ... bullion is bullion?

I won't be buying from HGM again after the talk of fakes.

They sell fakes but it's all gold in the correct ct in my experience.

Personally I have stopped buying from them as they send out knackered coins and charge a premium for the privilege. I have stopped selling to them after they reduced paid prices. It's a market place, plenty of other dealers with integrity and equal treatment of all customers.

Why are there full ct fakes, at all? Is it evidence of a PM laundering exercise?

Numismatic fakes generally I think, stuff like 1887 double and £5 sovereigns or old American stuff

Sometimes (for whatever reason) people like to make fake 22ct sovereigns, but they often put a little stamp for their shop and such

I can understand the motivation to make fakes that create a premium out of thin air, even if you 'invest' the real gold in your dodgy scheme.

I don't understand fake 22ct sovereigns, and the like. Maybe it's advertising / a craftsmanship challenge /  ... fan art?  :D
