Wasn't aware of that for some reason I thought it was £9, I guess Atkinsons can work out cheaper then, might try them.

I took the advice I read here somewhere and had a shopping cart open on both to compare prices.

Atkinsons are usually cheaper for 1 or 2 sovs and then HGM for more.  But as both of their prices are fluid that can change.

I just looked up the price for 2 full sovs and HGM works out around £5 cheaper even with delivery, although some people have complained about the quality of coin you receive from HGM (I haven't had problems)

Yeah the bulk reductions on Atkinsons don't really hold up to HGM's flat lower rate even with delivery, I'm noticing. I've been making two identical carts of various things today. Sometimes HGM won't update the gold price as quickly though.

When I bought 2 this morning, Atkinsons was cheaper.  I think Atkinsons website is more slick with real time price updates.  HGM obviously hadn't got round to updating their prices when I bought.  Nevermind, it's only £5.

As Jay stated above I have also noticed HGM is slow update spot prices whereas other sites update them pretty quickly, either way £5 wont hurt much, I bought some coins last week for quite a bit more :(

Think with hgm it's more of a lucky dip. I've had carded sovs and last week had a nice 2015 proof.   Think with atkinsons they will cherry pick the nice years and you'll end up with a standard bullion coin

HGM works on the london gold fix so price is fixed once a day.. Sometimes can work in your favour and sometimes against you depending if the is a price rise or price drop

I just ordered a few at HGM, they have quite a few in stock. Paid a good price at just 1.5% above so well worth it at the moment.

Any chance you could let us know which heads you end up getting once they arrive? I'm curious what the spread is like on the Best Values. :)

I know that 3 of them are Edward VII and one is a 2002 so if the condition of them is good then i'll be more than happy. They have quite a few in so they might tell you

what years are available, but it's a good price imo anyway. :)

Not gold but platinum - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/pobjoy-mint-1-pound-platinum-coin-with-coa-/253151790013?hash=item3af105c3bd:g:3PoAAOSwa4FZuWoP

£1 platinum coin for £250

I think it's :

Weight (grams): 9

Pure platinum content (grams): 8.55

But not 100% on that so do your own research before buying of course.

Intriguing that HGM has now sold out of all but one piece of bullion... price hike incoming?

Is it still the gold pound coin they have? That seems to have been there for ages!
