Time to give this thread a little bump and post todays finds. Didn't hit any boot fairs today as there was a large Antiques and Collectors fair at the Bath and West Showground.

Not as many dealers as normal as this was an additional fair squeezed in, and many dealers had prior engagements. But I managed to snaffle a couple of bits.

First of all I picked up a couple 1976 Bicentennial Independance Medallions. One was 63g of Sterling Silver Proof and its companion was a 54g Bronze Proof. Both made for my favourite museum in the world, The National Maritime Museum at Greenwich.

Dealer wanted £45 for the pair, then said £40. Said I only wanted the silver so he said £25 for the silver £15 for the bronze. (£25 for nearly 2 oz of silver, I'll have some of that. Now I ummed and arrred about taking the bronze one, (the mind thinking I might get a better re-sell options having both), and as I stood there he said £35 for both. That'll do me I thought.

Now I may flip or I may keep as they are both very nice. Not sure what to do yet. Just seen the silver one on sale on Ebay for £75. :)

Finally, went to see my local coin guy at the fair, and picked up a nice RAM 2002 Silver Proof Roo, with all the boxes and COA's for £35. Quite happy with today's finds

UPDATE :------ Just stuck these coins into my spreadsheet and, I've just hit the 500 oz of silver mark..........Another milestone ticked off ;)

So is anyone bootsale buying this year? I have had some nice bits and bobs but as predicted nothing quite like the 4 sovs.

Yeah, been to a few, but it seems people are getting more savvy with knowing what they've got. Havn't found anything decent yet. Had a bit more luck in antique centres with silver flatware under spot, and early in the summer picked up some cheap sovs, when the price jumped and the dealers hadn't had a chance to change their prices.
