Collecting Mexican Libertads Proof | BU

do people see a set as adding numbers to existing mintage or is

there something special about the coins in a set?

HH

Mintage numbers stay the same, some coins are released as singles, and some are sold in sets, total mintage is the same , boxed sets have more resale premium down the line, and are much sought after by collectors, also have the large benefit of coa and original box from mint, thus cutting the risk of counterfeiting . This new 7 coin set is a big development with libertad collectors.

I think I might have to add a proof libertad to my list of future purchases, I was looking at the gold proof libertad, but as I don't even have a gold BU libertad I think I am going to have to settle with purchasing the silver proof at some point.

They look amazing...

Their is some pictures, somewhere on this forum (I posted them in the wrong place) that show the 2013 libertad gold proof set, if you look close, the angel appears to have 3 sets of wings, reflection, that is how deep the mirror finish is on these coins, once you have one libertad proof silver or gold, it will be hard not to collect them

I can't seem to find them dave :(

Are you able to upload the photos to the gold coin gallery sometime? http://thesilverforum.com/gallery/category/8-gold-coins/ if your unable to don't worry about, just that pics in the gallery are easier to find :)

Since you're also a 1kg collector, how about the 1kg Proof Like.  Would be awesome.  Or even the Aztec Calander.  You know you want to  ;)

I haven't researched into this, and am therefore a bit confused. Is there a 1kg bullion coin and a 1kg proof like? And a 1kg proof?

Or is the 1kg basically a bullion coin but minted a lot nicer hence a proof like finish?

I'm confused myself.  I'm sure @dave could shed some light on it.  I think it's a BU but minted to a higher standard so with a proof like finish.  It hasn't received the true proof finish and craftsmanship.  I don't think there's a normal BU.

The Aztec one is even more confusing.  Is that proof like finish or BU?

Not sure, I don't know anything about the Aztec coin.

Dave emailed me about having some issues with tapatalk, not sure if it's actually tapatalk app or if it's just the tapatalk banner that comes up when you enter the site on iPad. (In which case can just be disabled by pressing the X)

Hopefully he emails me back so I can look into it and fix it for him.

Re the kilo libertad, it's on the list of future purchases, one day I will get one! One day.

Will have another go at posting, libertad 1kg comes in bu and proof like, proof like can be described as 80% proof, much more detail in the pressing, not quite the mirror finish of proof, no proof kg libertads minted,

2013 lowest kg proof like mintage 400 in total . Release price from main dealer just over $1000.00 sells between $1400-$1500 on ebay .if your going to buy a kilo coin, these would give great upside, but you have to buy on release
