It can be triggered with 2/3 MPs voting for an early election, or a vote of no confidence in the government.  The latter won't happen; the former very well may - the SNP support another GE, and the Tories will put a three-line whip on the vote. 

So you need 429 MPs to vote for a snap GE.  Conservatives, SNP, DUP, Lib Dems and some Labour rebels will easily make that number.

 

Theresa May is no fool; she knows that she has to trigger Article 50 soon - and then call an election, or UKIP will see 5 million more votes than last time.
