Austrian Ducat

Thoughts on the 4 Ducat coin.  I know 1915s will most likely be re-strikes.  What I want to know is how it looks and feel.  At just under 1/2oz it has a very large diameter and is only 0.7mm thick.  Does it feel too delicate and flimsy?

Oi.......leave me some, there is only 8 left, and I won't be able to get any for a couple of weeks   :) . I'll be interested to hear what you think of them.

I might pop into the shop this week and have a look at them. And see what else they got.

Can you buy from their shop? I thought one could only buy form HGM online?

Delivered 7.10 this morning instead of the usual 11am-1pm.  Good job I'm up with my 3 year old by then.

They are very thin and I was concerned they would bend easily but hey are actually fairly sturdy.  The noise they make is quite different to thicker coins.

These are the 4 Ducats at a tad over 4/10 oz.  It does feel strange because they are so big and thin.

Unfortunately these are 1915 re-strikes in circulated condition.  I'm going to be leaving one out for display and to play with.

So, what's your evaluation of the 4 Ducats? Do you really like them?

And do you mean they really were struck in 1915 and have indeed been in peoples' pockets.

They're novel.  More of a disc than a coin.  I do like them because they're different.

These are dated 1915 which means they were probably minted after 1915.  I bought them from the secondary market which means they do show slight signs of wear where they have been handled, rubbed together and slightly distorted.
