New gold greens spots?

TheGoldSovereign

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just received this coin from Pobjoy, covered in tiny green spots, you can only see the larger ones from pic but trust me there are lots!

Anyone know what it could be? the one nearest the rim looks almost silver

They have agreed to replace it which is good, just curious how it could get out of the mint like this

some copper salts are green, look up verdigris.

red spots have been reported in .999 gold coins before, so green is just as possible. Seems a little copper goes a long, long way when it come to discolouration.

The lady there seems just as interested so should find out what it is, just not something i've seen on new gold before.
