1oz Queen's Beast Lion

I sent a cheeky mail to Wholesale Direct Metals regarding the 1/4 oz lions and 2oz silver lions to see if they shipped abroad and got this reply:

"For overseas deals we would require a minimum purchase of 415 Gold Lions @ $414.41 each; for Silver Lions we would require a minimum purchase of 4000 @ $44.00 each. Do you have VAT handled on your end? In addition, can you provide us some info on shipping?"

So fif you are a wholesale buyer buying from them going in balls deep at a quarter of a million bucks or more, they want a premium of almost 50% per coin......

This has got mugging yanks off written all over it.....I expect ex princess Fergie to show up on tv flogging these next !!!

Farcical pricing for a purchase of 250,000 usd.

Coininvest may be selling the 1oz as bullion but I guess we will have to wait and see where the 1/4 oz goes. WDM is a ludicrous price for essentially bullion.

I will be avoiding these like the plague unless sensibly priced.

@STG - Are you expecting a 1 oz silver version?

You're right. It's the 2 oz version we are getting.

Hang on a minute. There are jobs in which you are paid to buy coins.  I might sent you an application.

Well if you have an education in banking or accounting (University degree appreciated but not necessary) there might be some job for you at some coin dealer somewhere. We are not planing to get somebody new right now since we just hired.

@morezone Do you think that you could source us boxes for the 1oz or 1/4oz gold beasts?

Probably not unless it turns out to be a regular billion rather than a private limited commission.

Mastercoincases would probably be able to produce a nice customised one but it would be quite pricy.

Wow. Good job I bought one this morning. Been monitoring the qty for the last few days and when spot dropped a tad, I bit the bullet.

Would have held off until further in the year but there's no info on mintage or availability and I really didn't want to miss out.

Just received the following email from the RM. I did ask about prices and mintages,  but they chose not to comment.

Many thanks for your enquiry.  We are delighted that the Queen’s Beast product has been so well received.  We can confirm that both 1oz. and ¼ oz. gold and the 2oz. silver coins will be available as a bullion grade coin from www.royalmintbullion.com in the coming week.

In the meantime we would welcome your interest via the following link:

This will ensure you’ll be kept up to date with developments and ensure you’ll be able to add this product to your portfolio. Best Regards

I hope so

It's rare for them to come out with such a well received design, shame to waste it on bullion, specially with their standard of bullion :P

Very true.

If a couple of 2oz coins were bought, would they be supplied with capsules?

Thanks for sharing.  Lovely coin. Wonder if it will be good value for money direct from the Mint?

If the RMB is stocking then hopefully bullion dealers will too.

1oz should come in ~4.5% and the 1/4 ~15% ex del.

Wouldn't mind some 1/4 but really need a huge drop in spot. Everything is so expensive at the mo :(

Looking at RMB the 1oz coin are currently around £960 with spot £893, so 7.5% delivered.

Good to have you guys! We are looking at this very closely. Two of us would even buy the silver coin for their private collection (including me) so you can belive me that we really would like to know what is going on. Hopefully the Royal Mint will let us wholeseller get some soon, too!

Chased up the 1 Oz Beast - not shipping for another 3 weeks approximately due to inefficient Royal Mint Wholesaler. The story is no doubt the same for the silver and 1/4 oz gold coins too.

Don't hold your breath on the silver or 1/4 oz gold coins. I am told they are quite expensive premium wise. Olduns email from the wholesaler gives the price that the dealer will pay so we can expect a bit more on top of that I guess. We will see.
