Today I bought.....

I bought this one yesterday I know @augur will be proud of me )

Only two have been graded yet from a mintage of 500 and the other one is one I graded for Augur that got a 69.

This one has little red spots all over so I have asked for it to be sent to NCS for conservation and regrading. With any luck it will have a PF69 when it is done.

I bought this one the other day.

@Numistacker or anybody in the know might be able to tell me if this is worth grading? Would NCS be the type of thing you could do on this coin?

The history of these coins is very interesting.  I'm not sure of the base metal of these coins, I think they might be brass (gunmoney).

Thanks

Looks to be a nice example, gunmoney is a very interesting area to collect and worth authenticating and confirming the exact variety so probably worth grading (depending on how you plan to sell it in the future), I expect NCS wouldn't be worth it.

I sold all of my gunmoney - sixpences of course - and just have left some of the Ormonde coinage although when the 'proof' examples appear at auction it is very tempting to start again! The dates used are even more confusing than the multiple systems used on the early Napoleonic issues😄

Ironically it is called great spotted kiwi... still strange for a four 9 gold coin to develop that many spots.

Actually, will they correct the label from greated to great? – in that case I would send its brother in for a mechanical change.

It is somewhat ironic )) they will conserve it and I hope get it up a grade. Will tell them to do the label right this time too ))

Forgive me SilverForum for I have sinned. I could not resist buying a second proof half Sovereign at Baldwin’s Auction today

Yes I know it’s gratuitous and greedy but maybe that’s what I have become with this hobby. I need cleansing

Very nice, you just need the set of 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 and 66 to confirm the TPGs have them in the correct order!

I picked up a tiny coin at the Hamburg auction today - it was silver though!

Unfortunately a couple of other bidders realised what it was but I still got it for less than 100euros😀

Will be interesting to see what NCS do with the raw one

got my hands on 3 of these bad boys. Possibly a bad investment, but I love rugby, and we didn’t lose last year, so there is that! Also only 1000 of them made. The quality is superb.

I got this 1995 1 Punt (Pound) Coin. There were an estimated 750 of these minted, in their own presentation boxes.

Another 2000 were made as part of a set of coins (with many other coutries).

This is the rarest pound coin in existence (Irish), and is the size of a crown.

Truly fascinating piece. I believe that most people didn't know of it's existence until about the year 2000.

Got it for 150 euro, and most guides say it's worth about 350. Probably more value when graded.

Beautiful coin and certainly in my wish list. I am not sure if you mean the boxed version but in general prices for the raw coin are around 200€, so 150€ still seems a good price.

Yea, I did mean the boxed coin. With the certificate it makes a bit of a difference. I'd say, however, if I can get @Numistacker to grade it, the COA might not make a whole lot of difference, and make it valuable. If you want one, I have a second one on it's way too? some slight toning on it, though.
