No circulated allowed though.

Does that refer to old coinage or is it all things pre-owned?

A good time to work on your £/oz average. I work on £14 which allows a little bit of spice every now and again. You will love the Kilo's, considering what you pay for a plain old kilo bar...amazing.

Need to work on the Gold £/oz on the way down.

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

No mate, I'm cool with pre-owned, just don't want any sterling or 50% circulated.

We'll see what happens with spot price, but £13 is the target.

I remember my first 10ozer ages ago, I loved the size and weight of that, so the kilo must be pretty special.

Well it looks like I missed the silver, so I'm back buying silver again.

Don't want to follow the semi-numi path as before, so concentrating on my £/oz average very carefully, as I have done with my gold (12oz at £780 average). No circulated allowed though.

So today I bought a 1kg 2015 kook and a 1kg 2016 lunar S2 monkey, with four 1oz Noah's to make the numbers work.

Added to the two 10oz coins I bought last week, I have 85oz of silver at a sub-£12 average.

Aiming to keep the average under £13 if possible.

Never had a kilo coin before, so quite excited to get them in hand.

I have a few, my favorite is the  1kg Noahs ark 2012 I have, please don't ask what I paid for it from Geiger it makes me cry:(.

I was looking for the Noah but couldn't find one for a reasonable price.

Hopefully that'll be the next one.

Grrrrr!!!  (the following is firmly tongue-in-cheek!)

What about the advice you gave?? The advice that I followed?

When it comes to exit time, how will you shift kilos of silver?

You like physical silver that much?

:P

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

Ha ha.

I never lost on my semi-numi silver, it was just a ballache selling individual ounces.

Liquidating 500oz (15 kilo coins ish) will be very easy, much easier than photographing, listing and posting 500 individual coins.

With the price the kilo coins can be bought for (under £12/oz delivered), they could be sold on eBay immediately for a profit (after fees & shipping), and possibly even on the forum.

So that's my master plan. Nothing smaller than 10oz to make it easier to liquidate when I decide to do so.

As far as eBay is concerned, I have sold around 300oz in individual listings, and didn't have one problem, and generally got more after fees than I would have elsewhere.

Previously, my average was around £25/oz but there were some £200/oz. Pain to sell, pain to store.

a quick look at what hgm has in stock.

I'm not saying that you can't shift 1 kg

silver items, it may just take time.

HH

Understood.

Most eBay users don't know about HGM, or they wouldn't pay the prices they do.

Last two kilo coins sold on eBay went for £460 and £475, netting the sellers around £398 and £410.

My kilos cost me £382 and £383 delivered, so would "likely" not sell at a loss. I understand there is an element of luck / chance.

It's a gamble I'm willing to take.

I felt I was a little "out of the game" by swapping all my silver to gold, so I'll keep that gold and buy some more silver - then I might sell the silver and buy more gold, who knows.

If the right deals come up it would be worth considering to buy/sell full rolls.

Sometimes specials pop up which can make the price per oz close to the kilos and you always have the option to break them up.

Agree, it's an option I'm happy to follow, price dependant of course.

Silver may be difficult to store and have higher premiums compared to gold. But you only have to look at a historical chart to see that silver has more potential for a greater increase in value based on historical highs.

Yep, that's pretty much the reason I'm starting to buy silver again.

You won't go wrong either way. My preference long term is for gold. I just find gold easier to own and store. Someone offered me a 2012 kilo Libertad for a 2014 1/4 PF70 and I turned it down. That said I prefer 2 5 or 10 or even 1/2 over 1oz silver.

Any particular reason? 1 oz coins are so popular, are you just a naturally contrarian investor?;)

I do like to be contrarian and I like to buy larger coins if I am buying silver. I buy 1 of each 1oz Lunar but 10 2oz maybe. I do like 1oz Pandas though ..

Just treated myself to a custom coin box from mastercoincases.

The leather has just been finished and needs attaching.  Slots to my specs then need cutting and will be ready to ship on Monday (hopefully).

I do hope to quality matches the price tag.
